My first GK army list, 1500 pts

Hi brothers !

After having play Chaos Space Marines and Tyranids for years, I am starting a new glorious army of the most venerable chapter, the Grey Knights. I would like to have your opinion on the list I have build. Before any comment, you must know that :

- I still don't have any inquisitor troops or figs in stock, so I do with what I have now
- I usually play against necrons and heavily terminatorized Dark Angels

So :

HQ : Grand Master Aquillion, with mastercrafted deamonhammer, three servo skulls and rad grenade

Elite : 3 paladins (they will be with the Grand Master) 2 deamonhammer, 1 Warding Stave. The WS is here to absorb most of the wounds.

Troops : 10 terminators (squad Albignac) : psybolt ammo, 1 psycannon, brotherhood banner, 2 deamonhammer, 5 nemesis Force swords, 1 warding Stave
Troops : 10 terminators (squad Beauffort) : psybolt ammo, 1 psycannon,brotherhood banner, 2 deamonhammer, 6 nemesis Force halberds.

Heavy Support : Dreadnought Hottinger, 2 twin-linked autocanon, psyblot ammo.

If you want to comment or give me advises, I have in list :

- Draigo
- Stern
- 2 terminators with banner
- 2 terminators with Warding stave
- 6 terminators with hammer
- 6 terminators with halberds
- 2 terminators with falchions
- 4 terminators with swords

- 1 squad of 5 interceptors
- 12 marines with halberds, 1 incinerator, 4 psycannon

I built 10 terminators unit, because if the mission played is Purge the Alien, I have few points to give, and they will be hard to earn for my opponent. If the mission is Crusade, I will split the 2*10 units in 4*5 units.

Am I right ?

I like the list, Once you get up close to someone they ARE going to feel it Although I recommend giving your ten man Terminators another Pyscannon each. Imho you can never have enough Psycannons on the field.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have more than 2 psycannon. And I will not engage a shooting contest against necron : have to deal with them in CC

I use Psilencer and ask if my opponent minds if I call them Psycannons and use them as such. I dont run my army as a shooter either. Instead I use the firepower power of the Psycannons to soften up my enemy before I get into CC with them. Use them right you can soften a Terminator Assault Squad up enough that a Strike Squad can kill it in CC.

Yeah, I don't know if I am better to build multi-purpopse terminators units, with a mix of hammer, stave and swords and a psycannon; or specialized units with only hammers in on hand, only swords on amother...

I'd go for a mix in your termies. It's good to have multiple attacks at different initiative steps. Though go only with one Warding stave and only on 10 man termi squads.

agreed. although I dont even run a single warding staff in all my GK lists

Wardin starve is maybe not necessary against necrons or others low AP CC weapons, but against Dark Angels and their thunderhammer / powerfist terminators, I think it could be usefull
