Where to start?

Hello everybody. I am looking for a allies detachment that might lead into a full scale Grey Knights army one day. The main purpose of this is to counter deep striking. I know I want Inquisitor Corteaz and a strike squad. What else would you suggest to get me going into the right direction of a allied force? Many thanks.

I think it would help if you told us what your primary detachment is?

Sorry, my primary detachment is Imperial Guard, I would probably run them with chimeras/vendettas.

Okay, so if you're wanting anti-deep strike, I'd look no further than 2x10 Strikes and Coteaz, well, maybe Interceptors, they are also great at denying places for your opponent to deep strike!

How many pts are you looking to spending?

As 10 Strikes with Psycannons and Psybolt Ammo is going to set you back 240pts, so you're looking around 500pts for 2x10 and Coteaz, plus a further 100pts for Razorbacks.

Skulls in what way? I thought it was only scout moves/infiltrators?

I would be fine with spending around 700 points

Take Coteaz, one acolyte warband (around 8-10 men) and 1 strike squad (10 man strong) and if points permit an Interceptor squad (10 man Strong). You have one unit with "interceptor" and 2 units with Warp Quake, which can cover a lot of ground if you spread them nicely.
