ok so I\'ve been out of 40k for almost 2 editions now trying to get back into it i had my old daemon hunter models floating around thought id try to build a grey knights army starting off with a 1500 points then seing were this leads me ( i had to use what i had floating around / bought a few kits to upgrade and add new models)

HQ Crowe -*150

--++ inquisitor is just a point sink till i can figure out something to do wtih the points id discard him like an old habbit for some reason i still thought you needed him for the assasin good news i was thinking of 3rd ed codex Smile so help me dump his points somewere else ++--

HQ Ordo Malleus inquisitor + daemon blade + power armor + 2 servo skulls + combi melta

Elite - vindicare assasin *145

Troop- 9 terminators (missing a model) 6x halbards 2x hammers 1x sword (sword is an old model havnt messed with changing it yet till i get game play feel / input) *360

Troop- 10x purifiers + 2 incinerators + 8 halberds * 256

Fast - 5x intercept squad 5x halberds *155

Heavy - Dreadnought 2x TLAC with psybolt ammo *135

Heavy - Dreadnought 2x TLAC with psybolt ammo *135

aegis defense wall + quad guns *100

the only models i have left are 2x greyknights with swords and bolters and 1x arm for a terminator with a flamer and 1 unfitted new plastic terminator wtih all gun options so i havnt made him yet i can still change the weapons on some of the grey knight terminators since i have some plastic bits i got from a friend and i can change out there arms and what not but all my models except a few are the old metal ones.

i'm happy that you came back to 40k with GKs ! Wink
about your list ...
1/ few body count ... not impossible to play but sometimes hard.
2/ I'll replace the vindincare with some troops GKSS or GKT for the body count and for the oportunity to play psycannons (i love them and they are one of the best weapon in all the game !! Twisted Evil ) then i feel that the Vindicare is somewhat redundant with your 2 psyfledreads... scratch
3/ if you want to play a deamon hunter mixed army, you can enhance your body count and your shooting punch in adding an Inquisitor retinue with plasma guns for instance (or DCA for cc)
4/ you may exchange your OMI for Coteaz who is one of the greatest Character of our new codex : cheapest as hell, 2 superbs psypowers (in divination), his special rule against deepstriker, and so on...
5/ all your army is footslogging, when mobility is paramount imho, so drop the aegis defense line (i don't know where you are but here where i play there isn't so many flyers around Wink and you have the 2 dreads for the big things) and use the points to buy rhinos or razorbacks...
6/ if, like i do, you love playing a full GK army and why not : drop the OMI and use a Great Master with all his advantages (gear, +1/-1DS, grand strategy...) so you don't really need crowe anymore...

so everything, at the end is depending of your play style, and what you like to play ! Wink

Very sound advice from Aubec, but he will still need Crowe to make the purifiers troops unfortunately.

no ... not with grand strategy ... the GM can make troops of 1 to 3 units if he chooses that option ... so with the few units he have, brother rinker could choose his purifiers, his dreads, his Interceptors or if he's lucky 3 to 4 ! Twisted Evil
but of course a GM is more expensive than Crowe (but not so many ... Suspect )

A GM makes units gain the ability to score objectives. It doesn't make them troops if I recall correctly.

Sure does, so unfortunately he still needs to take Crowe. If he made D3 units troops, he would suddenly become epic.

because scoring is what is important i still think that a GM is better than Crowe
btw how much GKT he gets ?

Thanks a lot guys I found my missing GKT he was hiding with my old guards I think ill convert some ig and make a inquisitor squady with cortez any sugestions on config?

In 6th ed, one of the best henchmen squad to run w/ Coteaz is a shooty squad: 3 plasma servitors, a jokaero or two, and acolytes for ablative wounds. Prescience will give you twin linked plasma death and if you're lucky, you can even roll and get Perfect timing--no cover saves on the unit you shoot at Smile

ok im a little confused on the 'presscience' and perfect timing thingy. i dont know what your talking about? its probubly some 6th ed rule i cant seem to find Sad
but anyway how does this sound for changes

HQ- Coteaz

Elite- purifier squad 10x 8 halberds 2 incinerators

troop- terminator squad 10x 6 halberds 2 hammers 2 swords (had no more halbards left) 2 psycannon's

troop- inquisitor squad 3x plasma servitors 2x jokaero 7x acolyts wtih bolter's

fast- grey knight intercept squad 5x 5 halberds

(and im 100% out of GK models : ( all the local stores have only terminator models left)

heavy dread wtih TL AC x2 with psybolt ammo

heavy dread with TL AC x2 with psybolt ammo

aegis wall plus quad turret

that puts me at 1496
that puts me up to 4 squads from 3 and with 10 GK terminators i can break it into 2x 5 man squads same with the purifiers giving me max of 6 squads with the inquisitor squad acting as a fire base gives me more monouverablity but im still trying to get my mind around the newer 6th ed trying to see what works and doesnt since i havnt had a chance to play a live game yet.

Not bad at all. I like the list.

Coteaz can exchange his standard GK psychic powers and instead roll for psychic powers under several categories. Divination category has Prescience -- gives a unit re-roll to hit in both shooting and combat. It also has Perfect Timing -- unit you shoot at doesn't get cover saves. There are many other powers listed but these two really work well with our inquisitors or librarian.
