Tau Incorperate GK's
Here is my current army List it is Tau.
XV8 commander (fusion blaster, shield, plasma rifle HW multitracker)
XV8 body guards (same weapons and stuff)
four Squads of firewarriors (6/ squad)
1 squad of kroot (12)
1 hammerhead
1 skyray
1 skimmer (fusion blaster)
3 stealth suits
1 devilsfish
--------------
I was looking at using commander O'shovah, a good melee which restricts my use of Kroot and Vespids.
there is a guy I know who play's as IG that uses GK termies as his close combat units; they are not a seperate army, they are GK termies in his IG army under his IG command.
He claims that under the lore, the GK's will aid their IG counterparts in order to preserve the Empire.
He also claims I can do this with my Tau, as tau will ally with anybody for the greater good. He also claims that O'shavah, being more separate from the empire, will ally with non Tau more readily than other commanders.
This would be great rather than playing two armies at the same time.
My question is A.) Can I do this? Would there be a difference between GK, SM or CSM?
B.) How would I do this legally?
I already posted a question as to starting a GK army and this is to clarify whether I can use termies together with my Tau army

Under the allies rules you need an HQ and a troop choice.
You can take the terminators and a cheap inquisitor who costs the same as a heavy weapon and add them into your army.

On the O'Shavah note, he is pretty good in close combat. Plasma will take out infantry armor and his dawn blade ignores armor saves. His draw back is you can only take one of or none of several Tau units. Fluff wise I think he would work with anyone besides Orks. Just keep in mind if you use him you have to take an elite choice of crisis suits and a squad of fire warriors.

Re: Tau Incorperate GK's
the problem with farsight is that he kill markerlights so those crisis suits will miss a lot more

Not always. Your death rain can take twin linked weapons and get the target array for your plasma carrying fire knives. I dont run many marker lights, but 1 pathfinder squad should provide more than enough to tear appart a unit a turn.
