Combat Patrol for next weekend Empty Combat Patrol for next weekend

Next weekend, I've managed to score myself some Combat Patrol games; 400 points, one troop choice, no save better than 3+, no more than 2 wounds, armour must not exceed 33 by adding front, side and rear - no unique or special characters.

I can only take a strike squad as my troops choice - so I'm thinking of running a basic unit; 4 knights with justicar, and a psycannon - no special tricks, just pure tank poppy goodness

Then, as I'm conscious most people will be running plenty of infantry, I'm running a Purgation squad with 4 psilencers

and to round off, because I have them built and no one else seems to run them, plus the awesomeness of a 30" shunt, an Interceptor squad with a psilencer.

This leaves me with 20 points to round out units - what would my battle brothers suggest - halberds, psybolt ammo on a unit...?

Thanks in advancement, brothers!

I know you might be worried about people running lots of infantry, but don't take psilencers. Statistically they are pretty much always inferior to psycannons, which can also pop any vehicles your opponent brings.
I like the simple strike squad and would keep it as is. For the purgation squad I'd definitely go for different weapons, I really don't rate psilencers. Psycannons are much better, but very expensive. 4 incinerators would be free and should really shine(especially since you can flame through solid walls) on a combat patrol board.
I really like Interceptors for this, they have mobility, which can be key. I'd definitely drop the psilencer here since it'll only be snapshotting if you move, An incinerator although very expensive is their best bet, althouth a psycannon isn't horrible since it can still get 2 shots on the move.

On a random note it sucks you can't take an Inquisitor(or indeed any HQ lol) since henchmen can rock in combat patrol.

Can I suggest swap the purgation squad for another interceptor squad. Or flesh out some squads. The psilencer is exceedingly shit. To be perfectly honest. Incinerator or psycannons. You want to keep moving. I suggest incinerators. A bit cheaper. And take a few HB razorbacks with psy ammo. Perhaps. Maybe a las cannon to really open up the enemy vehicles.

It's certainly an interesting option, taking the incinerators in the purgation squad - I already have a squad built like that so that's do-able...I also need to build my razorback, but I'm struggling with the instructions.

I would have 40 points spare if I dropped the psilencers plus my 20 spare points; gives me more options to play with...

The Razorback is pretty easy once you get the knack of it. I've built a few of them now and the first is the hardest.

Make sure you dry fit each step before you glue so you can be sure you've got it right.

The razorback is looking close to finished - I don't think I'll have the time to spray it tonight, more's the pity - I would have liked to have come home from work tomorrow and settled to painting straight away.

It's got a twin linked heavy flamer as it's for my tourney list - still need to get that painted

I'd have left the HB's, added Psybolts to it and used the 20 points elsewhere. Maybe Psybolts on another squad or another stock GK. Also it means your RB can double up as a heavy weapons platform kicking out 3 strength 6 TL'd shots. That should either draw fire away from very expensive GK's or be free to pop other light vehicles you might face.

Yeah the HB's would have been the better choice imo.
