1.5k Strike or Purifier army? Empty 1.5k Strike or Purifier army?

Hey guys!Im currently playing a purifier army.Sadly,i hardly won any matches with them so i decided to make a new purifier list.However i also thought of giving strike squads a try.I havent tried these lists yet so i would like to know all your opinions on them.

Purifier lists

HQ's (250 pts):
Cast.Crowe

Coteaz


Troops (785 pts):
3 Henchman -67
(3xWarrior Acolytes, Chimerae)

10 Purifiers -296
(4xPsycannon, 2xhammer, 3xhalberd)

6 Purifiers -223
(2xPsycannon, 1xHammer, 2xHalberd, Razorback+psybolt)

5 Purifiers -199
(2xPsycannon ,1xHammer, 2x Halberd, Razorback+psybolt)


Heavy Support (465pts):
1xDreadknight -235
(H.Incinerator, Personal Teleporter)

1xDreadknight -230
(Nemesis Greatsword, Personal Teleporter)


Total Points:
1500

In this list,the warrior acolytes would give their chimerae to the 10 men purifier squad.The warrior acolytes would then be used to capture home objective.The 10 men purifier squad will stick with Coteaz in the chimerae.Coteaz with his divination psychic powers would buff the purifiers.Crowe will protect and stay near the warrior acolytes and assault anyone coming towards my home objective.

Total Points:

Warrior Acolytes would give their chimerae to the terminator squad.Warrior acolytes would then be used to capture home objective.Coteaz will buff and stick with the termies in the chimerae.


So what do you guys think?Which of the two lists is better and is there any way to improve it?Any suggestions are welcome. Very Happy

I have nothing to add other than I'm going to keep my eyes on this post. I'm completely new as well, & I'm curious about the same answers you're looking for.

Don't know what you mean by your acolytes giving the Chimera to GK. Why not just buying a transport for them?

Also, the acolytes will die as quick as you can say Coteaz, once outside their transport, so not sure why you just bought one 3-man unit with no upgrades.

In list 1,i gave the chimerae to the 10 men purifiers so that coteaz can stick with them in the transport.If im not mistaken,coteaz can cast his divination powers to the purifiers inside the chimarae.4 TL psycannons shooting out of a chimarae is nice.Also,GK do not have any dedicated transport that can carry more than 10 models.Landraiders are too expensive while stormraven are very risky as a transport.In list 2,i gave the chimerae to the termies because thats the cheapest vehicle i could get for them.

I just took the 3 men acolytes as an easy and cheapest way to capture home objective and get a chimarae.They will hide out of LOS for most of the game.Towards the end of the game they will come out and take the objective.For only 12 pts,i wouldnt mind if they fail or die. Very Happy

I see. In that case the 10 man Purif Squad will mainly be shooting. perhaps there is no need of Hammers, and a better addition could be psybolt ammo.

I like the first list better, though I'm a sucker for Purifiers.

IMO,psybolt ammo on 6 stormbolters isnt worth it.It will be better used in a squad of 8 or more stormbolters.

As for the hammer,it is needed in case i ever get into or be assaulted by a terminator squad, dreadnought, etc.With str 10 ap 2,the hammer is very useful,especially in this edition.

Well clearly that purif squad is a shooty unit, no need for extra weapons just in case. Even with hammers this unit will fold under an assault by a dedicated assault unit. The hammers only increases your chances of wounding Termies not killing them. They still have their 5++, while hard to get, it's still there and a lucky die roll could see them in combat for a long time. Moreover, Assault Termnies will never go into a fight without their Storm Shields.
In return your purifiers will die as easy as you can say hammer. No invul means once the Termies hit you start removing models.

So if you're using purifiers as a shooty unit, keep them as that and leave the CC to other units, which have more chances of really hurtuing dedicated assault units.

What Don says makes sense. No use in improving a units weakness when time could be better spent sharpening their strengths.
