Greetings to fellow Battle-Brothers
Hello!
I am new to 40K and brand new to Grey Knights. I actually got copy of Grey Knights codex and box of Grey Knights intending to build Grey Knights army last summer when me and group friends started 40K hobby. Unfortunately first models came out horrible, barely worth even call piece of plastic that kinda killed my interest in 40K now, around 7 months later and few hundred Blood Angels later I see what I could save and it actually makes now decent models albeit most text is barely readable thanks to too thick paint I used when I started painting it last summer. I build another box of Grey Knights with MUCh better success. So I am sitting now 10 Grey Knights strike squad with 2x psycannon's and daemon hammer all with Nemesis halberds. I got half Decent Crowe too but I am thinking to make 1000P pure grey knights list without named characters so I don't waist my Codex and already bought models.
I do like idea of having terminators as troops
Perhaps 2 more boxes of Grey knights and a box of Terminators combined Captain and champion for bodyguard? I have not used to have cheap HQ choices what Grey Knight Codex is full with...
But I look forward of making elsewhere my army list and see how my Grey Kngiths fair against space wolves and vanilla marines I know 1000P is small for Grey Knights but then I have used to play outnumbered and outgunned even against other marines

Re: Greetings to fellow Battle-Brothers
Welcome to the forum and Grey Knights!
It certainly is easy to end up with bad results painting Grey Knights, but there are lots of tricks and techniques to improving.
Halberds are not the best choice for Strike Squads however, they are just too expensive. They are ideal for purifiers however. The extra attacks and lower cost make it more reasonable.
Champions are not very good, however the GM's are a great choice, as are Librarians. Either with Terminators work well.
Its important to not invest too much in the many shiny things in the codex, you end up with very little army, and it will be hard to play.
There should be some reasonable starter lists in the Lists section of the forum.

welcome on board brother
try to find some Glanzer to clean your plastic models of their thick paintings (the good thing is that Glanzer work well for plastic and metal models)
