New Recruit
Hello Brothers,
I am Kaistern, new to warhammer 40k and am looking at starting out as GK because they look and sound awesome. As I am starting out I still have yet to buy anything be it literature or models, Do yall have any suggestion on how begin?

Re: New Recruit
greetings brother and welcome to these halls.
it comes down to what you prefer. the boxes of the GK are very versatile so you can make a nice army out of it. what do you want to field ? terminators, strike squads or do you want to play lists like a Draigowing or a purifier list? if you can answer this question we can surely bring you some tips on what to buy

Hmmm, how to begin.
The very simplest way to begin is to get a paint set, a codex, and a PAGK boxed set (power armoured grey knight) or some terinators.
The paint set should include tonges, brushes glues and some simple basing material.
And i would go from there.
You have the rules for you specific models, plus a codex you can read whenever you want.
You have the basic tools for the trade and can start modelling and painting some dudes.
You can check out a tutorial i made for the old metal termies if you like. It's here.
https://greyknights.forumotion.com/t1161-klomster-s-monster-tutorial-for-grey-knight-terminators
I have put in both beginner basics and some techniques i knew at the time.
And then you try to paint as good as possible.
That's what i've been doing for 10 years ish.
And a monster model.
Not to brag or anything.
But otherwise i say this.
Welcome to the forum, i see my brothers have not assailed you with raging and hailing friendly welcomes that drown you in goodwill too much....... yet
Do check out some of the painting threads, some of the old guys are real masters, but a bunch of newer arrivals also impress with their great skill in the hobby.
And don't be discouraged by anything, but try to see how this new thing can improve yourself.
Again, do feel welcome.

Welcome Brother! Glad to have you onboard
Brother Klomster pretty much summed everything up. Getting the codex would probably be your first step. You can read about the fluff, background and the abilities of each unit so you can determine what kind of list you want to field.
Enjoy your stay.

Re: New Recruit
Thank you for the warm welcome brothers.
I have just got the main rule book and the codex at the moment as I wanted to get a good grasp of what this list was about before I shoved money at the models.
That being said I have thrown together an army I would like your opinion of... But I will post the details in the list fourm... The link to that post is https://greyknights.forumotion.com/t2770-1500-first-list-ever#44878
Please review and post what you think!
EDIT: Made the link work
