Close. I ran 8 Death cults with 3 crusaders in a land raider crusader along with Coteaz and a GM. They haven't met any unit in the game in CC that they didn't destroy-- "sushi anyone?" Razz

Brother Sameul,

Welecome to the Forums.

That is exactly what GM Rivan does... I was thinking about a OXI instead of the GM.. for a cheaper unit, but I would expect the GM to have a high survival rate.

Also I am not sure how much the sanctury power brings also from Coteaz, but I bow to those with more experience to give their thoughts on that.

Brother Flaxis is correct--that is how I run my unit:

8 DCAs + 3 crusaders + Coteaz + GM w/ blind, rad and psychostroke grenades (I actually have a mystic in this warband as well). Hammerhand (sometimes stacked) + rad grenades pretty much means my DCA's will most probably hit on 3's (due to WS 5) and wound on 2's. Whatever I get from psychostroke is a bonus but I don't really have to rely on it.

You can totally substitute the GM w/ an OXI for cheaper points but the GM has grand strategy which is crucial to my lists.

Thanks for the quick replys and the welcome.
Would a storm raven be a good way to deliver them.
Was thinking a oxi with a thunder hammer to help with mc and tanks. (and the rad grenades)

I keep hearing about a rifle dread but isent a assault cannon and ac dread just as good.

A SR is definitely a good way of transporting them. Its faster although not as durable as a LR type. And you need to know how to use a SR--you don't want it blown up first turn before you even have a chance to move, forcing your unit to footslog.

A dread with asscan and autocannon is not bad. One drawback is the big difference in range. You'll have to be much closer to employ the asscan, negating the advantage of staying back and being out of reach of a lot of nasty weapons (like multi-meltas and plasma cannons).

I ran against a coteaz list that was 2 landraiders, each with 8 DCA's and 3 PA acolytes and a jakaero, one of them containing coteaz. Never been owned by such a margin in my life. He also had a heavy weapon squad of jakaero's bunkered up which i managed to take out on my first turn with a interceptor shunt + incinerator Smile but those warbands from the landraiders just walked through my units, it was rediculous. Top of the third turn the only thing i had left on the board was Draigo, and only because he's an absalute BOSS. He actually held out against both the warbands by himself until the 5th turn which was cool, but still, the inevitable happened and i got tabled. I want to include one of these warbands in my lists but don't because of fluff reasons and lack of funds

Only problem I had with running larger units of them was they killed what ever they ran into on my turn leaving them open to return fire which is something you don't want to happen. I now run mine as 5 DCA's and an OXI in a stormraven I find that this unit now kills the enemy unit it their turn more often than not leaving me to consolidate and set up for the next assault.

If you are using LR's to deliver combat troops you should be screening them so when/if they win combat they can't be seen behind your LR hull.
Its the same concept that was needed last codex if you wanted to use LRs effectively.

Its now particularly true since DCA don't have power armour and can't take the beating that GK can...
