1500 henchmen +GK - upcomming tournament

hello guys,

first time posting on this forum, been reading for a while.

i might be wrong but i think i have not seen a similar army list before. please let me know what you think.

1500 ON THE DOT

tactic:
the 2 GK in transport are for taking objectives, the GK squad on foot will be claiming objectives on my side of the table
chimera squad can clean mobs or even vehicles squads
purifiers - dealing hurt to specialist squads
dreadknight - take out hiigh wound high toughness or high AV targets and use his guns while he makes his way there.
HQ - just to peg or random guys from Heavy weapons squads or anything with 3+ saves or worse.

Welcome to the forums Brother!

Just so you know, it is better not to post individual point values for models and upgrades so we don't get in legal trouble w/ GW Smile

I like the concept of your list however, I think you're spending too much points on upgrades. Psybolts and halberds are a lot of points for 6-man GK squads with not much value in return. With all the points you save from these upgrades, you can probably have full 10-man squads. I would also invest in psycannons since they're dirt cheap fro Strike squads.

Now, for a 10-man squad, psybolts are not bad. They = to 2pts/model at this point. Just my two cents.

Welcome Brother!

Rivan is right, to many upgrades. Strike squads are meant to be our cheapest unit and they generally work best if you keep them that way. My favorite load out is this:

GKSS x10: 2x Psycannons, 1x master craft hammer, psybolt ammo, rhino (295 pts)

This set up can shoot through pretty much any infantry squad with ease, and make for excellent fire support. The two psycannons are absolutely a must take. Generally, if a squad can take a psycannon...it should. If you're set on razorbacks then follow the same set up.

GKSS x6: 1x psycannon, 1x master craft hammer, razor/lascannon/dozer (235 pts)

Next lets consider the dreadknight. Yes, I know they're totally sweet, but at 1500 they take up A LOT of points. What to take instead: Psyfledread. A dreadnaught with 2x twinlink autocannons. These are delightfully cheap at 135 points and you can easily take two in any list you make.

Lastly, if the only other HQ you had planned to take was a basic inquisitor, then a brochamp could be a fantastic addition especially with your purifiers.

In a nutshell, take lots of psycannons, take at least 1 psyfledread, and keep psyammo reserved for large squads.

ok thanks a lot for the input

regarding the halberds - wouldnt initiative 6 be worth it in combat?

an update on the list - had to drop the 2 dozer blades and the servo skulls to make room for everything.

the reason i like the razorbacks is because in such a small points game i want to make sure that i deny my enemy his 1 or 2 heavy supports and i take them out ASAP. More targets for him to choose from.

also are brain mines worth it?

Welcome Brother Alex,
Taking into consideration that your squad may not arrive to it's targets intact (Some can die on route) You may want to have fewer upgrades within the squad. Strike Squads aren't that strong in combat with 1 base attack. Hence the Justicar is a better investment in a halberd or hammer rather than the whole squad.
The chimera can only hold 12 models, I presume that your inquisitor w/hellrifle is to be used with the henchmen squad? If so they will not be able to embark in the chimera unless some die. Also the henchmen servitors can have a maximum of 3 weapons not 4.
