1850 Draigo Paladin List

My friend and I have been going back and forth regarding my Grey Knight lists that I play with and we keep having the same core disagreements: I like heavy armor and he likes to spam light armor. We had a hard conversation about a list we could both agree upon as good and they all had one defining characteristic...NO VEHICLES!! (dum, dum, dum ohmy.gif )

This is one of the lists that we came up with that I'm seriously considering acquiring the models for.

Terminators x5 - Sword/SB x3, Halberd/SB, and Halberd/Psycannon (don't have a hammer model but considering getting one.)

In objective missions, the interceptors will, hopefully both, be made to score so that the whole army is scoring. Otherwise, I'll probably Hammer of Righteousness the Paladin squads to maximize those Psycannons. The vindicaire is to help out with AV 14 and to target Sanguinary Priests and Powerfists and the like.

Nice list, will you be deep striking all/most of it?

Aye; I am curious too if you intend to deepstrike the majority (namely those termies). I love the no vehicle concept; I try to do this as well. Sadly, deepstriking can of course be very risky. Draigo should probably be on the field moving up with Paladins and using psychic communion twice a turn to control those reserve rolls.

Speaking of which, Paladins shouldnt be too bad footslogging, so long as your gunning with their psycannons. Like the Interceptors too.

Depends heavily on the opponent and mission. I doubt I would too often though. I'm fearful of deep striking because it's backfired too often for me. If I need to be in the enemies face early I'd sooner scout the interceptors with a shunt and then hit something turn one or something like that.

At 2.5k, I'd probably add another squad of something that can deep strike with incinerators hoping to crack open transports with psycannons or the assassin and then roost the contents.

A general plan is to use the standard terms w/ Draigo as a screen to give covers to the Paladins if the enemy has a lot of long range str 8+ (demolishers, railguns, etc.) The interceptors use their shunts as late game objective contesters or to get to long field vulnerable spots (support units, rear armor, etc.) Draigo moves to an important spot where he can hopefully force the enemy to come to him (he really is a top tier combat character.)

If I do deep strike I'll deploy Draigo likely on his own or with the terminators who would hide until I can get a more cohesive offense formed.

try to find the points for the banner in the pals units ... i think they are worth it

i would suggest a apothacary for the paladin squad that draigo is gonna be in...if you think your gonna be fighting up against a decient amount of missle launchers...

had one spacewolf player wound draigo with one and i got my feel no pain...look on his face was worth the pts

There is only 1 way to settle your argument... battle it out! Make sure you post the batrep too

I would make the Palladin's a single 10 man unit - you have the terminator's as your other troops choice anyway, it just gives you the option of not combat squading in kill point games

I agree that you should combine the paladins into a 10 man squad. You would get more out of your Grand strategy rolls. On a great roll you could include your terminators and an interceptor squad for hammer of rightousness. Also it would save you points if you do throw on a Banner. Just my thoughts.

If you're planning on an early game shunt with the interceptors i'd personally swap the psycannons for incinerators on one of the squads. Shunting across the table on the first turn to where their heavy weapons squad is hiding away in cover and burning them all to a crisp is too much fun .
