Facebook

Hey guys,

Not sure how many of you into the social networking thing, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to make a Facebook group for people of this forum to join?

I thought it would be a cool way for members of this forum to post random updates, photos, and quick questions (rather than making new threads or having to search?). And theres a chat box thing on these too, if your terribly bored or need to ask something.

I'm in a couple of groups for other things already, and I think it would work perfectly for our little community / hobby.

Anyone else keen on it?

On another note, anyone else out there seen the huge rise in use of Facebook by GW stores? What do you think of it?

it's a good idea, but you won't see me there ... i'm way too paranoid to put my life on the net like that !!
by the way this forum IS a social network of sort, imho.

I'm allergic to facebook and twitter and other such things.

Although it is a good idea for others, you won't see me there either.
Simply because i have an innate dislike for facebook. Same with McDonalds, i was tutored since childhood to never eat there.

I have eaten one of their "cheeseburgers" (to call it that is borderlining false advertising, i call it a nice warm sandwitch)

Anyway, i don't think there is any trouble with finding stuff on this site. If you think there is, you could try to summon the arch-lurker himself, inquisitor lord. Our most secretive admin.

I feel the same as Klomster. Heck, I don't even own a cell phone. However, after much pressure I finally made my own Facebook account just recently in order to keep up to date with the players and goings-ons of my local 40K and Warmahordes community. I must say it's a great tool for that to quickly find pick-up games, ask quick questions, see what people are selling and getting general gaming info. Being a forum though I'm not sure how FB would serve us better but I'm definitely open to the idea.

You don't own a cellphone?

Mind you cellphones can be VERY practical.
I only have a cellphone.... am i right that a cellphone and mobile phone is the same?


Anyway, get one that you can call with, and a crappy camera, nothing fancy.
Shouldn't cost much and give you a bit more freedom.

If this becomes popular, it wouldn't be complete without your input, at least make a fake account so you can contribute an album of some of your models and projects? (Theres about 50 pages in your section of the forum! A Facebook album would be a lot cleaner to scroll through haha)

And I have no trouble finding things on here, but I thought it would work a little better if all our photos were in albums, e.g. Rarka's album, Aubec's album, etc etc. Would be easier than having to look through a thread page by page, and I'm a teenager so this is so much more my area

So make it official and let the community know there is a page in FB. As said before the more the merrier.

I would join if i had a facebook account, and i don't plan on getting one.

And ofcourse i have amechanicus fleet, you can't be a mechanicus fan without a mechanicus fleet can you?
