2000pts list for competitive play?!

Hi brothers,

I joined a new gaming club and they got a few really good players. They re playing 1750-2000 pts only.
So i need a new bigger competitive list.
I dont have much exp on the field so i m counting on you guys!

One of my serious builds is this:

- IOX - Servo, 2 grenades, energy weapon, mastery 1 (Hammerhand) 103
- Scriptor with all 5 nice powers, sword 175

- henchmen - 9 DCA, 3 Crusader + RB with sync Lascannon 260
- 2 * ven Dread (psifelmen) 390

- 10 GKSS with 2 psicannon, hammer + RB with sync Lascannon 310
- 10 Terminators, 2 psicannon, hammer, banner, psibolt ammo 495

- LRC with MM 265

So i will drive my DCA with two HQs in my LRC, 5 man SS in each RB.
That will give me 2 Rb, LR and 2 Cybots as vehicles on the table.
Terminators i m not really sure what to do. Depending on mission i would combat squad them or stay as one. DSing or walk also depending on enemy.

The list looks good for me on paper, enough vehicles, 30+ in numbers, nice nades in deadly deathstar. AND i also have nice Psi support with the Scriptor.
4 scoring units if i want and enough antitank

But i dont even played gainst every enemy out there so what do you guys think is missing? What army could make problems?
Sure i have to make my own experience but i have to buy stuff for my next list and would like to plan it as good as i can

For me your force is weakest in its troops choices. Personally I think a strong GK army should be based around our other three options (Palladins / Purifiers / Henchman) This of course means having to change your HQ.

Well my target was to find a competitive list without the casual chesy spam

So do you think it cant compete? outnumbered? Or is it just the surv of the Termis?

Btw. I got a pretty funny list with 2 DCA squads with grenades in LRs

But i still got enough of the normal GK stuff

So you have 2 LRs with DCA squads with HH and Grenade support. GM+coteaz + DCA in LRC and Techmarine + DCA in LR

2 GKSS in RB and 2 Dreads.

The other three aren't regular troop options.
They are basically spam armies with the exception of Pallies, who are too expensive to fit into that category.

Both your lists look good Newtpow although the second seems a bit better of the two.
Its generally bad to take a single LR afterall.

Its a bit short on bodies though.

well with the LRs, 2 sync Lascannons and the ven dread i got few antitank.

I could swap the normal Dread for a GKIS. Would add shunt sickness and more bodys

Its combat heavy with the DC in LR's so you don't want to lose your anti tank in the Psyfle Dreads.

You can't really solve the bodies issue when you have a list with 2 LR's especially for GK's, just have to keep it in mind.

I much prefer the second list, everyone has more purpose rather than 10 Terminators (1/4 of your points) deepstriking/footslogging to nowhere particular.

@ Zealadin - I dont think the use of Henchman or Purifiers as troops makes your army spam, this list above isnt for example. It makes it themed certainly but that is no bad thing.

Dedicated transports = spam

Crowe, 3x10 Purifiers, 3 Dreads, 3 Stormravens = themed
Crowe, 6x5 Purifiers + Psybacks, 3 dreads = spam

all thats different are the transports and the Dread loadouts

Leave rhino variants to the Ultramarines and Chimera's to the IG

I like the second list but I'd tweek it a little.

Using a rhino may be preferable if advancing behind the LRC to take advantage of the hatch.

Perhaps adding acolytes w/meltaguns to the unit of henchmen in the LRC will allow you to play more aggressive.

Incinerator on the GM is a cheap option.

If i m using one rhino for the GKSS i could add 3 henchmen w/meltas + Rb with sync Lascannon.
They could also advance behind the LRs. One more unit but easy KP...

Inci on GM is a good idea. But i dont really like to thin down my DCAs for henchmen That has to be tested.
