400pts list for 40k in 40 minutes games

The local store is gonna start running a 40k in 40 mintes league and as I understand it the restriction are as follows :-
1 troop choice minimum
No characters with 3 wounds or above (sorry nidz)
no vehicles with armour of combined 34 or above

I have never played with such a small amount of points before and as such am struggling a little. as it stands mind I'm considering 2 different options

Option one = GK
8 man strike squad = psycannon, 1 Hammer, 5 halberd pysbolts and a Rhino 265
Psifle dread 135pts
400pts

or option 2 = Blood Angels
Chaplain with infernus pistol and melta bombs = 120pts
6 man death company = 5 power weapons 1 power fist 1 infernus pistol and Rhino = 280pts

any thought or suggestions appreciated

Keep in mind that if its 3 wound characters, then non character mcs may still be allowed, all your points in one squad can also be an issue.

Saw your post so thought I would try a few lists out. This is the one I seem to be winning most 400pts combat patrols on.

Grey Knight Terminator Squad - 275 Points
- Nemesis Demon Hammer
- Justicar Anval Thawn

Razorback - 80 Points
- Lascannon & Twin-Linked Plasma

Razorback - 45 Points
- Standard

I killed there armour Armour with the plasma r lascannon razorback. Used the second razorback as troop support with its twin linked bolters. Then killed everything in reach with my terminators watching shots just bounch off my armour. I lost Anval by personnal choice in one game. I knew he would come back sooner or later so I didnt see the need to waste a terminator.

Hmm...don't think you can take transports without a GKSS or Purifier squad to go with them. If I recall correctly you can't have models with 2+ armor saves. There's an all-around armor restriction as well so no Dreads allowed I'm afraid.

Brother Champion

GKSS x9 - Nem Force Halberd, Demon Hammer, Psycannon
Razorback - Psybolt ammunition, Twin Linked Autocannon, Sorm Bolter, Dozerblade

Combat Squad them to a 5, 4 place the Brother Champion with the 4 without the Just. One squad in Razor other on foot.

The unit itself has to be 10 strong to combat-squad the way i read it.
The dread is fine- Duncndisorderly said the restriction was 34: 12+12+10= 34. I thought the limit was 32 usually, but they get changed depending on the league I guess.

What about taking a small squad of GKSS and a larger unit of interceptors? Use the manoeuvrability of the interceptors to stay at 24" pounding away with stormbolters and psycannons and then jump-pack in and kill things when you need to or shunt to objectives. You can get 5 GKSS and 10GKIS for 360 points giving you 3 units buzzing about. That gives you only 40 points for upgrades, but you can have 3 psycannons and a hammer which isn't so bad. After all, you already have 15 power weapons.

So on playing a few games and the local shop refining there rules they came up with the folloiwng
HQ = Optional
Troop = minimum 1 but as many as you llike
Armour on vehicles = no more than a maximum of 32
Wounds = maximum of 2

With that in mind i went for
6 man strike squad 1 x psycannon 1 x Mc hammer and a rhino =195 pts
6 Interceptor squad 1 x incinerator 1 x Mc hammer 2 x halberd = 201 pts

remember that you can only combat squad if your unit exists of 10 models and that you can only combat squad them to 5/5

are you allowed to use elite slots? if so i would suggest:

5 man SS: 1 hammer 1 psycannon, razorback twin linked heavy bolter psibolt ammunition : 170 pts
6 man purifier : 1 hammer 3 halberds 2 psycannons. razorback twin linked heavy bolter, psibolt ammunition : 225 pts
