Grey Knight Versatile Army 2000pt Empty Grey Knight Versatile Army 2000pt

This is my 2000pt Grey Knight army. I am using Coteaz as HQ not for the ability to field Henchmen, but because he is a relatively cheap way to get the Sanctuary ability, and another unit with an anti-Deep-Strike ability (if he turns out to be a weak link, I will get rid of him and Justicar Thawn and use the 175pts to field a Librarian with a master-crafted Sword and 4 abilities). The SS will be split into combat squads each with a Razorback for speedy flanking / objective capture. I am using Justicar Thawn mainly because I liked the backstory and want to convert a cool model for him.

HQ:

Inquisitor Coteaz

Elites:

5 Paladins (Brotherhood Banner, Apothecary, Incinerator, 1 Hammer, 1 Halberd)

10 Purifiers (1 Incinerator, 5 Halberds, 1 Hammer)

Troops:

5 Terminators (Justicar Thawn, Incinerator, 2 Halberds, 1 Hammer)

5 Terminators (Psycannon, 2 Halberds, 1 Hammer)

10 GK SS (2 Psycannons, 1 Hammer, Psybolt ammo) (Split into 2 combat squads, each with a Razorback as DT)

Dedicated Transport:

2 Razorbacks (Twin-Linked Lascannons)

Fast Attack:

5 GK IS (Incinerator, 1 Hammer, 2 Halberds)

Heavy Support:

Nemesis Dreadknight (Hammer, Heavy Psycannon)

IMHO -

combine the terminators for less KP, if needed they can still be combat squad
how are the purifiers getting to battle, foot slogging them is a bad idea in my experience
razorback's only hold 6 guys so you HAVE to combat squad you troops to fit inside. You might not want to combat squad, thinking KP's here

it's not what's in the list though, it's how it's used. I've seen lists posted on a forum, be total slated, then go on to win a big tournament. Basically do what you want and see if it works for you.

Welcome to the forum Brother!

Concur w/ Brother itsuperslug, combining the 2 GKT squads into one gives you the benefit of less KP in a KP scenario.
I know the RB's are there for long range AT, but footslogging your Purifiers will diminish their CC effectivity since they can get whittled down prior to getting into CC. Just my two cents Very Happy

For non-objective games combining the 2 GKT squads sounds like a good idea. I will also free up some points to have the purifiers in a Rhino.

This might be a dumb question (it's late and I'm all doped up on meds so ignore me if I miss something obvious), but how are you combatsquadding 1 strike squad and giving them 2 razorbacks? Otherwise it's a fairly solid list although I agree Purifiers definitely need a Rhino from somewhere. Also I'm wondering, how are you planning to use Coteaz?

You can't. you need to have them as two five man squads to get two razorbacks, not one ten man combat squadding.

But never fear! You CAN keep them as a ten man squad if you buy them one razorback, and but the other for the purifiers, and still combat squad! Your purifier razorback just can't start with the strike squad inside, but they can get in right after the game starts.
