hi so my local is having a conflict campaign am not playing but i helped play test a guard army for someone and i was surprised. also this is my first battle report and my memory isnt the best

so my 750 points was
brother captain - halberd
5 GKT - cinnie
LRC- multi melta
5 GKSS - psycannon

i think he had
command squad -
vetearn squad - 2 meltaguns
vetearn squad - 2 meltaguns
guard/vetearn squad - rocket launcher
margo - demo charge
chimera
chimera
2 sentinals - both plasma cannons


so it was anillation i kept my GKSS in reserve he kept margo and a vet squad in reserve

turn 1 was just me moving forword in my LRC no one could shoot

turn 2 he deepsriked his vet squad behind my LRC and fired his melta guns but did nothing, he fired with his rocket launcher did nothing
my turn i deepsriked my GKSS between vet squad and my LRC but scattered 10 inces and ended up fine but behind vet squad, i moved my LRC closer opened fire with assault cannon on a sentinal which i wrecked, my GKSS fired on the vet squad he went to ground i killed 4 leaving the serg on the ground in terror.

turn 3 he deepstiked margo in cover next to my LRC and threw demos but did nothing, he fired a rocket at the LRC and missed, his vets in the chimera raced towards my LRC and fired out the top with his meltaguns getting the extra penatration and blowing up my LRC and killing 1 of my GKT, he then killed another 1 GKT with shots fromthe sentianl plasma cannon, margo for some reason decides to assault my GKT and my B-C swiftly kills him.
my turn 3 i moved and ran my GKSS then had my GKT move towards the chmera that killed there LRC and shot the side armour getting afew glancing shots but not doing much but stop it for a turn my incinerator thought being streght 6 ripping the chimera open wrecking it my GKT then kill all in the assult

turn 4 he moves chimera and sential to get good shot at my GKT, he shots plamsa cannon, multi laser, rocket laucher and another GKT goes down and B-C takes another wound.
my turn my GKSS move forward and gun down the lone vet serg, my GKT move to a building with the rocket squad and incinerate and shot 5 killing them then i charge in killing the rest of the squad and consoladate into some cover incase of plasma shots

roll for turn 5 and get a 1 game ends with guard killing 1 KP and me getting 4 KP

have to admit with just 12 models going against double that i thought i could draw but didnt expect to come out with a win

Well done, sir. You've proven a good case of quality over quantity. Just imagine the extra carnage you could have inflicted if you had been able to keep your LRC alive a few more turns. Smile

true with rending on the assault cannon i could have done alot of damage

but at least it got my guys there just before it blew up, if id lost it on turn 2 result might have been alot different

Very nice; I love the image of your Brother Captain gutting Marbo Wink I know a guard player who uses Marbo to charge as well, but against Grey Knight he doesn't stand any chance.

Glad to hear the melta's didn't pop your LR too early; that what it tends to hinge on. Excellent victory Brother.

Good job.
In hindsight it might have been a good idea to escort the landraider with the strike squad walking behind it. Warpquake would have kept it safe from all the deepstriking meltaguns and you could concentrate on taking out the chimera with the other vet. squad inside.
