Adaptable army, with a GKT core.

Post by Slind on Fri Apr 08, 2011 3:33 am

Inq w/Communion, 3*sculls
Libby w/Shrouding, Sanctuary, Might of Titan, Summoning, Teleport Homer

Mystic, Warrior Acolytes (Ablative wounds) w/Rhino

10 * GKT w/2*PsyCannon, PsyAmmo, MC-Hammer, hammer, Helebards
5 * GKT w/PsyCannon, MC-Hammer, Helebards
10 * GKT w/2*PsyCannon, PsyAmmo, MC-Hammer
10 * GKT w/2*PsyCannon, PsyAmmo, MC-Hammer

Nemesis Dread Knight w/Sword and Flamer
Land Raider Redeemer w/PsyAmmo

= 9 KP, 4-7 scoring units

That leaves 73 points to spend on goodies, I considerations are:
- More sculls
- Warp Stabalizers
- Upgrade the Inq-retinue.

Tactics:

The general idea is that this army is terminator-centered and adaptable.

If i play kill-points, I can go into denial mode, with only 9 kp at 2000 pts, most of which are pretty hard to get. If the game is objectives, then I can Combat Squad into 7 scoring units.

I want to get into the sweet 18-24 inch range ASAP.

I can footslog into range, in that case the LRR, Rhino and NDK works as a screen while the Libby gives my scoring units additional cover and sactuary.

I can DS my army with sculls sprinkled on all vital locations, while the Rhino+Mystic and the Libby+LRR speed to vital DS points to provide accurate DS-locations. At the same time the Inq use Communion to keep the DS focused.

Summoning is there to provide additional mobility/redeployment options when going against highly mobile armies.

I prefer the Redeemer, cause I need the close range crowd control when going against hordes - plus it can hold the small GKT-squad with an attached Libby. I recon that the 8 PsyCanons sprinkled around the army is sufficient AT.

Questions, Comments or ideas on how to spend the remaining 73 points are welcome!

Upgrade the Inq Retinue.

If you take psykers you can get yourself a Str 9 AP1 blast at 36!" good for tank busting at range with just 7 psykers

Also consider changing redeemer to normal Land Raider for lascannon support (you can put Inq retinue in it) or a crusader to take advantage of psyammo

There is a lot of horde players in my local area, so if I go with the Godhammer Land Raider, I think I will suffer big time, because I will only have one crowd control weapon (heavy Incinerator).

... and it will break my heart if, stupid orks, should end up dansing victory dance on top of all my shiny armour.

i would forget the inq and retinue, find the points for pals and change the LRR for a LRC or LR (but with this last you can't take 5 pals and the libbie)
