1K POINT STARTING FORCE

As I'm not really using them as grey knights(converting my old ad mech stuff) I plan to run lots of tech marines and henchmen(3+ squads), this is what I plan to start with for 1k point games

Coteaz
Crowe

Purifier squad 5 with falchions, razorback with psybolts
menials squad a-death cult assasinx2, crusaderx2,4 acolytes w storm bolters,chimera with heavy bolter(coteaz goes here)
menials b-6 with bolters, jokero, meltagun acolyte, rhino
menials c-6 with bolters, jokero, meltagun acolyte, rhino
purifier squad b- qty 5 , 2 incinerators, rhino w stormbolter

996 points

This is my starting force, I dont have the grey knights yet, so I'm not even at 1k points yet. idea is to run crowe close to the CC purifiers, kill stuff with double cleansing flame, and the 15 force weapon attacks(20 on charge), flamer squad for burning down units, the 3 henchmen squads for objectives, coteaz geared for close combat and the other squads for supression and anti mech(1 lascannon and a melta in each). Is it better to go DCA x 2/crusader x 2 or DCA x 4???

I used to run a vaguely similar army with dreadnoughts instead of purifiers in my daemonhunter days. The cultists would meet up with the squads and hang around to countercharge anything getting too close. If there was a fair amount of terrain they rocked, but in the open exploded rhinos led to much scuttling to cover and little objective taking.. Maybe take interceptor squads instead of purifiers or when you make the force larger- they'd fit with the mechanicus theme and mean you don't rely on armour 11 boxes in a missile rich enrivronment..

it's gonna take me about a month to get this amount ready, after that I'm planning on adding a purgation squad first with 4 psycannons and a razorback, then expand the CC purifiers squad.

I don't really get the interceptors yet. Explain this to me if I'm misunderstanding, but they have shunt packs that only give them a 30"redeployment deepstrike once per game, that lets them only shoot, and their options are more expensive then a strike squad??? This is correct, no?

I don't think Crowe is necessary in your list as you'll probably use the henchmen to secure your own objectives, why not drop him and use a dread+2x Twin-linked autocannons+Psybolt ammo for long range stuff or even push it to a Dreadknight?

Also I wouldn't give all Purifiers in squad (a) Falchions, looks good on paper to have loads of attacks but your probably better of dropping 2 Falchions for a psycannon and a Halberd for I6 to be more versatile.

hmm. I can skim 160 points off... I like the dreadknight but hadn't really considered that. good idea, and I may do that counts as wize in friendly games, but $$$$ wise, crowe is 15, dreadknight is 52$. Definately a better idea though.

They also move as jump infantry which gives them an 18" charge range. Purifiers are all well and good, but they're foot-sloggers who die as fast as any other marine- As soon as you get out the razorback everyone will back off and pummel them with big guns'o'doom. Purifiers already have a reputation: no-ones going to let them get into combat.

I didn't realize intercepters moved as jump troops. may have a reason to use halberds after all then Wink but still thats 2 more boxes of troops and a razorback.....

revised list, got more knights in, less henchmen but still enough to be admech worthy. hace to but coteaz in the shooting unit of henchmen, but thats ok, its only 1k list.
