Knights vs Knights new codex

Today I visited my local GW and met another Grey Knights player, so we played a casual 2000 point game using the rules from the new codex. I don't quite remember the exact lists but I'll do my best,

My list had

Two land raiders each with troop termies inside
Grand master
Two rhinos each with 10 strong GKSS inside
Chimera with warrior acolytes and a vanilla inquisitor

I'm a big fan of mek and we were using the models we already owned.

His list had,

Librarian fully kited out
Inquisitor in termie armor
Two land raiders one with war band of different inquisitorial henchmen and the other with a purgation squad with 4 flamers
Termie squad 8 strong
GKSS 10 strong
Tek marine

We played dawn of war capture and control.

He set up and went first. He set up the GKSS on his objective in the back corner and his inquisitor in the centre

I set up one rhino with a GKSS behind a building opposite his objective. My objective is in that building
I dont have the pics for the setup soz.

In the first turn he rolled his landraiders on and deepstruck his termies near my objective (we forgot you cant deepstrike turn 1)
and tek marine walked on. He couldn't see me so he did nothing else that turn.

I followed by rolling on both my LR on to protect the objective and kill those termies! I also moved on my second rhino and my chimera up behind the first rhino to make a run up to his objective.



In his turn two he charged one of my LR's with his Termie inquisitor and immobilised me but with a lack of antitank failed to do much else.

In my turn two I unloaded one of my LR termies with my GM and charged his GKSS and owned them! My rhinos and chimera moved up nothing else of note happened.

His turn 3 his purgation squad that was in a LR jumped out and killed a few of my termies (with some help from his termies strength 5 bolters) this was followed by a charge from his termies into mine who made easy work of the 3 that remained.

My turn Three I shot everything I had at his termies and killed a few. I moved my rhinos and chimera up.



His turn four he wrecked my chimera and exploded one of my rhinos. (dam)

My turn four I moved up more and shot some move termies (bit of a non event turn)

His turn five He killed all of my first GKSS (not to worry i have another) and moved a little closer to my objective!

My turn five I disembarked the second squad of GKT out of my immobilised LR and ran on to my objective.


His last turn He tried (and almost succeeded) killing my termies that were sitting on my objective, he killed all but two. He also recked my other rhino!

It came down to my last GKSS charging his GKSS sitting on his objective, I got the charge off and he didnt use hammer hand. So thanks to having double the attacks and rolling some lucky dice I whipped him out leaving me with both objectives!


All in all a VERY fun game Very Happy

Brother the pics turned out awesome. We will deffently be playing the game over when we have our new stuff. Also my Inquisitors name is Inquisitor Lors Helstine of the Ordo Mallus IID (Internal Investigation Division).

it is amazing what Assult cannons can do to storm troopers when equiped with Psybolt Ammo
