Oath of moment

Well Brothers, with the new year comes a fresh start, and what better way to take advantage of a fresh start than to make a commitment to what you intend to achieve in regards to our hobby in the new year!?

I was thinking that this would be a fun thread to have. I know that I need a good kick in the butt, and/or motivation from others to stay on target with projects, and I thought this would be a great way to support each other in the new year.

I am thinking that we can fine tune the oath of moment together, and then either contain the oaths to this page, or, if you are feeling especially brave and in need of motivation, attach them to your signature!!!

Here is a rough template that you can use to inspire/motivate/and, hold yourself accountable with :

I Brother (Insert your name here) Swear on the Emperor's throne that by (Enter a date here) I will have (Enter what you intend to do here).

Example:
I Brother (Brother Constantine) Swear on the Emperor's throne that by (March, 2011) I will have (painted 5 plastic PAGK models to tabletop quality).

Of course your oaths can be a small or as challenging as you want, and even multiple oaths is ok. Just remember that you are swearing on the throne that you are going to complete these projects, so be realistic

Let me know if you like this idea, and feel free to throw me ideas about how the oath should be worded. I was thinkng that our "Brothers" who have temporarily strayed to the dark side could reword the oath if required

Brothers with forum powers can also participate in this project and perhaps even add the oath feature to the page somewhere...Sticky it, or add the catagory to our profiles, etc...

I think this is a great idea too. I'll just have to plan what I'm vowing to do

I'll get my Eldar standin Blood Angels army painted to 1000 points while I wait for the GK release!

And waiting for our beloved GK, I wil go further in my Black Templar crusade (something like 1500 pts)... For now I'm painting two initiates squads, an assault squad and a Castellan.

motivated by the general ambiance i'll try to finish my conversion full metal GKT with TH/SS to have finally 7 of them + the BC and to put them in a crusader.
that's all folks (and that's not bad after all)

- I will finish Ira Divinus (LR) and Validus (LRC/LRR) to golden daemon quality (or as near as possible anyway ).
- I will finish at least 2000 pts of a Salamander army (table top quality).
- I will finish at least 2000 pts of a Space Wolf army (table top quality).

And all this before the end of 2011

- I will finish my Grey Knight Baneblade, the Spear of Longicolnis, before the release of the next Codex.
- I will continue in my Radical ways and put forth the effort to repaint my Daemon Prince before the beginning of summer.
- I will summon and then bind 1500 Points worth of Daemons to my will so that I may do your holy work by the end of the year.
- I will also finish the last of my 1500 Points worth of Salamanders by the end of January 2011.
- And if any new recruits for my Division of Grey Knights, comes my way, I will fondly place them before all else so that they may do your work with even more holy righteousness then your holy Space Marines.

I myself would use my own knight titan rules, and rethink some of the things in there, but the fellblade is solid and with the addition of something grey knighty, should work fine.

I think it wil be helpfull if when you post an oath you put it in a different color, that way they will stand out.

In the original post I said that we could customize the vows to reflect your darker sensibilities ...... This thread is not intended to focus on wording, it is a way for us all to support and motivate each other.

Heh, heh...new developments for me. Despite some of our Brothers' (Ezekiel, DB) assumption that Kyrox will influence me to Chaos, the reverse has happened! Kyrox read the SW codex and was enticed to play the Space puppies He has seen the light and has gone back to the Imperium's fold lol! He has taken over building our SW army.

This frees me up to make faster progress w/ my Salamanders and eventually start my Black Templars crusade
