GK vs Tyranids

yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.....

so, Yesterday i fought tyranids. it was the first time my GK fought them, and my opponent hadn't played since 2 years ago... so it was some kind of a noob battle
mission : Catch and keep (?) = prendre et tenir
deployment : standard battle (12" from the table board)

my army :
HQ = 1 GM +icon+psycannon+MC NFW + 4 GKT, one with 'cinnie and one with SS+TH
Elite = 1BC +icon+holocaust(that i forgot all the game )+'cinnie + 4GKT, one with TH/SS
Elite = 1 inquisitor + 2 mystics + 2 IST one with melta, one with plasma
Troops = 2x7PAGK (including one justicar each) PAGK1 with 2 'cinnies PAGK2 with 2 psycannons.
Sustain = 2 dreads + smoke + EA + 'cinnie, one with heavy plasma, one with assault cannon.

for about 1400 points (i made a 1500 points army but my opponent discovered that he forgot some 100 points of troops)

his army

HQ : 1 prince + lash+heavy venom cannon + lord of the hive+wings
Elite(?) : Carnifex + strangler cannon (?) +bioplasma+ regen
sustain(?) / Trygon +toxins+adrenaline glands+regen
Elite(?) 6 stalkers (rôdeurs)
troops : 30 gaunts
troops :12 hormagaunts
troops : 13 genestealers (reinforced carapace) + 1 alpha (acid blood + dart)
troops 10 genestealers

strength : more troops than i have
drawbacks : only one synapse creature.

i'll resume the battle more precisely this WE, but let's say that it finished with a draw : 1 objective each and a moral victory for me because i still have about 750 points left against about 400 for him.
for me the units of the battle were my dreads : killed the trygon, 2 stalkers, blocked the price 3 turns to aloww my GM to kill him, made the gaunts flee (2 times) and resisted everything my opponent send to them.
the genestealers with alpha are a plague, but something funny occured. They charged my unit with BC and GKT : let's say that i thought my unit dead. result of the charge : 7 invunerable saves to do and 17 armor saves
i made my rolls : 1 inv failed and 1 armor failed : 2 deads only ... a miracle
but as their number is 4 times mine and as i'm fearless i made 4 wound rolls : result 2 wounds and a double Ace for the savings .... so only my BC was left ... and that was the moment i forgot holocaust !!

it's for those moments i love this game

That confused the hell out of me as well, especially since it said he had a lash O.o Most likely it's just a translation problem based on unfamiliarity with the 'nid dex.

Very good battle Aubec. Capture and Control is indeed one of the hardest objectives because it will more than likely end up in a draw

Well done brother! I never fought nids, but I think it would be very hard! I hate swarm armies!

very nice i have only fought them once myself and a trygon is a very tought thing to kill
