Re: Latest GK rumours
Two things I miss in the discussion so far:
The potential of Psyc-out granades and and winning CC. That -1 may not seem as much, but when your are testing moral at -2 after being Nemesis Force-chopped, that extra -1 hurts like h... because it will typically fall in that juicy 6-8 range where 2d6 morale has the highest number of occurences. That -1 may very well mean 15+% more propability of breaking in cc.
Ghost Terminators. I know the boards are swimming over with Palladins, but in the general scenario, point for point - those Ghost-terminators make Palladins look like little girls (if you can call a 2+/2++ FNP 2W).
On a side-note. Remember when Stick Monkey 6 month ago rumored that the FOC was not your traditional one. Just read on Herecy (i think) that rumor would have it that the GK-FOC is more like WHF, where a percentage of you points are spend in each slot.
I this pans out to be true, then perhaps GK is our first glimps, at what WH40K 6th ed. will be like.

Re: Latest GK rumours
it will change us to have an anticipating codex !
i would like comparing Ghost GKT and paladins ... for now i really don't know : there's the 2PV rumours for paladins ... that's awesome and there's the rule for the ghosts that says : if Mordrack dies all the ghosts are gone ... the "only" thing to do is to kill a GKGM (ok i admit it's not easy , but could be done...)
i'm reserving my opinion on that until the release of the codex

Re: Latest GK rumours
I compiled some info on Grand Master Lord Draigo and have come to a conclusion that hes a beast!
Lord "Draigo"
240+ points ws 5or6 bs ? S 5 t 5 w 4 i 5or6 a 5 ld 10 sv 2+
Wargear: -Eternal warrior
-Termie armor
- Storm Shield?
-Titan Sword
Psychic powers: -Jaws like power that removes models from play without ANY save, Uses template.
- selected unit is grabbed and brought near librarian using deep strike rules.
-power which makes units within certain range take difficult/dangerous terrian test.
Psychic mastery 2(can cast to powers per turn.
The Titansword: The Titansword is a master-crafted force weapon with the Daemonbane rule. Additionally, any close combat attacks that Draigo directs against a unit that contains one or more Daemons or Psykers are resolved at Strength 10.
Hes also rumored to have the ability to grant the squad he is in with Initiative 10, as always take this with a load of salt. The only thing im mad about is we dont get storm shields! termies have a base 5+ invul like always but you can upgrade to a nemesis sword which grants them +1 to their invul save, making it 4+. I WANT STORM SHIELDS!(or at least something equally as good)

Re: Latest GK rumours
That info is a little mixed from what I have seen. The two psychic powers you are referring to are mentioned for librarians not Draigo.
This is what I have
ws7 bs6 s5 t5 w4 i5 a4 ld10 sv2+
termy arm, SBolter, SS, Frag kra psyk, Titansword (as you described)
Fearless, IC, EQ, PE Daemons, Mastery level 2, Aegis, Grand Strategy (the roll d3 and chose an ability to grant to squads)
Powers: HH, Psychic Communion (no clue), Sanctified flame: Str5 AP- Assault 1 shooting psychic attack wounds daemons on 2+.
he makes paladins troops and costs 275.
He eats demonic infestations for breakfast, has slim fast and a daemon prince or two for snack, slugs down some Bloodthirsters for lunch, and has Greater daemons with a side salad for dinner.
Supposedly the item we are getting is for paladins the Nemesis Force Rod grants a 2++ but everyone is sceptical about it. mathcrafters say a unit with a 2++ would on average require 36 woulds landed against to effectively take a wound. Sounds so game breaking Ill believe it when I see it.
but the above is what I have seen from my source.

Re: Latest GK rumours
There're some more rumours on BoLs I think it was.
It turns out we don't have troop choices with a 30" teleport or full units of 2++ saves.
If these counter rumours are true then I'm a lot happier with the way the codex is looking.
Storm Shields are for 8 year olds and their whussy codex marines who need a 3+ save because they have incompetent commanders.

Re: Latest GK rumours
*Wipes tear from eye*
I'm going to miss fantasizing about Paladins with 2++ invlun saves throwing their junk on the faces of all the other SM codexs.....
I still feel sad we don't get 3+ Invulns. I hope that its true that the NFW provide an invuln save +1 in close combat. Blahg. Getting shot up from deepstriking is gonna suck so freaking hard (not like it doesn't already).
And come on, troops teleporting 30inches is EPIC. Which is why I am gonna be counting on this Grand strategy deal to make Fast attack Grey Knights (who are rumored to be able to pull this off) troops and make it a reality >;D
Honestly, I want a badass teleporting GK army that comes in, cleanses, and vanishes. Fewer losses adds to lore, being cream of the crock. Or Emperor; whatever.
I wonder if we can slap as many ++2 on single units for as many squads as we want? Might be fun to make Justicars and such have them. At the least it'll make for a laugh when you take plasma shot and roll a 1 anyway...."there goes some 50 something points I'll never see again..."

Stupid faulty internet; accidentally double posted. Must check for warp entities interfering.
To add something else, I hope PAGK will still serve a good role. And that you can field a terminator army that isent garbage.

Re: Latest GK rumours
From everything I've read so far:
- no storm shields (except for Draigo)
- NF staves that give 2++ is only 1 per squad (still not bad)
- NF sword gives +1 upgrade to invul save IF you have an invul save to begin with (so PAGK won't have it)
- Teleporting GK are still FA choices and therefore not scoring
IMHO (if these pan out to be true), its not really bad. Our GKT's can have 4++ invuls while retaining SB to shoot with. A good mix of weapons load out and you can have some GKT's hitting at I5 w/ halberds, some hitting at I4 w/ swords but have 4++ saves and 1 GKT can even have a 2++ save w/ the staff. Everyone can still hit at S5 w/ hammerhand. GM's and B-Champions can have 3++ w/ swords since they have iron halos.
With Grand Strategy, you can make teleporting GKSS scoring as an option but don't forget, GKSS should have a variety of transports to choose from anyway. Personally, I'm really attracted to Purifier squads. W/ base 2 attacks, & possibly +1 for SB which counts as pistols (supposedly), that's base 3 attacks & 4 on the charge w/ power weapons for roughly 24pts/model (or 26pts each if you give them all halberds and they strike at I5)! If you take Crowe, they become scoring anyway

thinking about that rumour from the same guys, stating that every nemesis weapon increases the invulnerable save by 1 when assaulting. meaning our termies get a 4++ on charge and characters like stern, who is said to have a SS, getting a 2++ on charge. makes us pretty neat i think

Re: Latest GK rumours
I have mixed feelings about this. One I'm am officially sad about multiple things that have appeared in the leak, and two I am happy about others as well. I'm glad that my GKGM Trinity (Psycannon/Incinerator/Stormbolter) conversions can still be used. If the rumor about the Psycannon buff is true, then that will be quite sick indeed to have on any TDA wearing GK. Probably is true with the new cost of the weapon for a GM.
Though I am sad about the loss of our S6 attacks, no longer being fearless, lack of WS5, the major nerfing of both the Eversor and the Daemonhosts, standardization of our Grey Knight Crusader, and the new need to take ten man squads just to get two special weapons into the unit.
I hope that the Crusader is still being tweaked and if not, I'll consider taking Stormravens and field Dreadknights with Personal Teleporters for my Heavy Support (Yea, take that winged monsters!)

I was thinking along the same lines. I read it and was very dissapointed with it. I am hoping this was an early working document, or a playtest draft that has since undergone a major overhaul.

Re: Latest GK rumours
Ya, as soon as i seen WS4 i was like "Bullcrap" but i think its something we have to live with now... they better still be all power weapons or ima be pissed. But i did notice that we now have frag and krak grenades, which is good. And some of the psychic powers are pretty awesome. Also, the eversore im a little disappointed at with the loss of auto wounds but the nuero gauntlet counting as lightning claws is cool because we get to re-roll all failed to wound rolls and plus the stat line has been beefed up to make him a monster. I mean WS8 and I7? thats pretty cool.
But, i suppose we will just have to wait and see..Maybe they will listen to our cries and change it for better. Until then......DAMN YOU MATT WARD, DAMN YOU AND YOUR LOVE FOR SPACE MARINES!!!!

Re: Latest GK rumours
The play test codex that was leaked out is definitely that, a play test codex. Judging from the more recent rumors I've read in other threads (B&C), those sources have the more recent versions.
Overall, I don't think its TOO bad. I can see the potentials. The fluff is definitely drastically different. I also have mixed feelings about our ability against daemons. Yes we have PE but even w/ all the NFW's we have, we can't force kill daemons anymore (unless there's something we haven't seen yet). And as I've mentioned before, it seems we have so much possibilities w/ all our myriad psychic powers so I'm still worried about anti-psychic test gears like the eldar runes and shadow of the warp.

I'm sceptical of the ghost knight dude and the guy with A FRIKKIN DEAMON BLADE!
I can understand that only one guy can guard it.
Fine, let him guard it.
Running around on a battlefield waving it around is not guarding it. That's stupid.
Just like ALOT of the other things in that small "leak"
