Wow, that soon? Lucky us. Rolling Eyes I'm thinking having a son so his son's great, great grandchild can inherit my GK's and have a ready force for when the new codex comes out.

Yea but seeing as it will be a really late codex, it will probably be so unbalanced that they need a never coming FaQ to balance it. Razz

Well I red many interesting things about what we all expect SOOOOOO much!

As far as I am concerned, I would plaid for:

HQ
*Grand Master with WS6/7 I5, and Eternal warrior rule,
*Brother Captain with WS6 W2 I5
*Grey Knights Brother Chaplain
WS5 BS5 S4 T4 W2 A3 I5 Ld10

Elite
*If terminator squad is over 5 models, 2 special weapons choice
*True Grit rule for terminators.


Troops
*20 points per model instead of 25, 40 for the justicar
*Rhinos as dedicated transports at 35 points.

Fast
*6 PAGK with GK Razorback (see Forge Wolrld)
*Deep Strike and assault in same turn.

heavy support
*Add Land raider Redeemer (see
Forge World)

All of this is for GK, for the IST, they should have access to the Walkyrie transport, maybee in FA slot, they should get the same skills as in the IG Codex.

About wargear, Psycanons could be AP3 at same cost, or stay AP4 but at 20 points each (I would prefer AP3 Twisted Evil )

This may be quite uncomplete, and utopian proposition....
But as it was said earlier, everything is pure dream until GW decides to produce a new Codex..... Crying or Very sad

Ech. Fall not in to the trap of "make it better, make it AP3!". That's the 5th Ed plaster like Rending was the 4th Ed "make it good" bandage. Look what happened to Storm Troopers - they became AP3 and now suck even worse than they did before. Rolling Eyes

Storm Bolters should be counted as Close Combat Weapons by Grey Knights (think about it).

Taking a special weapon shouldn't make your guys worse at what they do best, which is assault. Why do I ever want to pay to make my guys worse? They already cost more than enough.

Wishful thinking: hellfire ammo all round. Yeah, I can dream. Very Happy

Grey Knights to have Preferred Enemy against Daemons.

Frags all round (except Terminators obviously).

Brother Captains to be Captains like SM.

Elite Dreadnoughts and Land Raiders as Transport options all round. It wouldn't affect most people's GK lists anyway.

Better Psychic powers which actually do something.

I could go on (and on and on and on). tongue

Dreadnought on elite would severily hurt my list.

I would say, choose elite or heavy, but not both.
Grey knights have so many fun elite choices that giving them another would make them never be used.
Like the tyanids, they have too many elite choices.

It would however blow open the option to take Land Raiders in the Heavy and Dreads in the Elites. Obviously some measure of balance would be needed, and I find that the Elite slot gets unused in anything under 2000 points pure GK.

We obviously create armies in very different ways then.

The first thing i filled was the elite slots. Then, troops. I have 2 heavies, which is a dread and a LRC.

Although i think my idea works, you can use the dreadnought slot as either an elite or havies slot, and then you are banned from using the other.
Fe'x, i take a heavy support dreadnought, then i can't take any elite dread, but 2 more heavy support dreads.

And the same way around.
Although considering GW, they will be elite, and i won't be able to make my army any longer.

Elites don't score, Troops do. Wink

I run 3 squads of 7 GK's with a Grand Master, 3 Retinue a Land Raider and a Land Raider Crusader for 1500 points. Bodies and firepower as best as I can do it.

However, if the LR's could be Transports, in larger games I'd certainly be up for taking Dreads as heavies or Elites.

I have been told that ...

all gk get true grit

sroudding can be combined W/ night fight special rule

all Nemisis force weapons will all be rending + usual stuff

Dreads will become elite

storm troopers will be changed to the IG ones

we may get storm ravens .... dont know about that one

Gk will be lowered to 20pts

Gk can get jump packs as a fast choice

Gk can use rinos and they will be 35 pts

We will get all land raders

Sadly the "by the athority of the immordal emperer of man kind" is now gone as well

we may get the bike squads ... not quite sure

the book will coem out in Augist along with the new deamon modles!

And the guy that wrote the Space Wolves will wright the Gk book

Note: this is just what i have have been told and have read it may not be true so pease dont hold it to me!!!!!!!!!!

well our GK terminators dont get true grit. would be nice tho...

dreads as elite choice would be awesome in my opinion, good for pure GK armies.

personally im fine with the points for our GK but they should give us more options for equipment and of course adjust the points for our current weapon options. GW doesnt seem to get that if we get a psicannon or incinerator on a GK we have to sacrifice a storm bolter including true grit rule and an aditional +2 strength in close combat.

I would want cheaper weapons for the Purgation Squad. It sounds really good on paper, and fluff wise. 4 Psycannons... yummy.
