Players in Manchester

Post by Spiritcurse on Thu Jan 07, 2010 5:14 am

Subject says it all, are they any 40k, GURPS, Dark Heresy, or pretty much anything else living in or visiting the Manchester area? I'm looking for more people to play against, and wondered it there were any around.

Also, any Dark Heresy players or GURPS players want to have a game online sometime? We use a couple of irc channels, with a built in dice roller, and tend to play on Friday evenings.

Anyone interested?

Sorry Brother Spirit; I have been defending the borders of Renton Washington from Daemon taint and think I'll be here for an indefinite period of time. Surely some of our other Brothers will be able to assist you.

That's okay, anyone interested in playing online? Not so much 40k, but Dark Heresy should be good. And it's not a heretical as it sounds, you play as the good guys.

There's a Manchester NH about half an hour from where I live. I don't suppose that's the one you mean?

What would you wanna play online? DoW II? Forum based RP?

Umm, the one in the north on England?

IRC based RP, if we can get a dice roller back. Otherwise I'll have to make one, but that should be easy. We play Dark Heresy and GURPS, and willing to teach anyone who doesn't know how to play either.

Dark Heresy is a 40k based roleplaying game, GURPS is very open, with any kind of character you like available to create, and grow. Occasionally into a zombie.

I've played quite alot of dark heresy and knows this.

It's an awesome game.
You are basically low level acolytes of an inquisitor and do missions for him/her.

Anyway, me myself isn't interested in online gaming (sorry)

Dark Heresy sounds like a lot of fun; if I had the time then I'd give it a try.

Aye, never mind then. We've got 6 players including me, just wondered if we could get a few more and split it into a larger campaign.

I mean he has 6 dudes/dudettes for his roleplaying.

When we roleplay, we are 6 guys and sometimes that is on the upper side of what is practical.
But then, we might be more detailed in our roleplaying than others.

Here at the warhammer / 40k / gaming club, there are probably...... i don't know, perhaps over 100 players that has joined the local gaming club.
Paying a fee every year so that the club earns money, so i am used to larger clubs.

Well, at our local GW there's usually about 20 people, so we can get a 40k game, but we only have 5 players and a GM (not sure why I counted him as a player), and we're lucky if 4 people turn up each week, including the GM. Plus, anybody else nearby could join in our necromunda campaign, we only have 2 so far Sad

And no, we're not too detailed, except in the gory bits. Of which there are plenty, especially since I found out how broad "self-defense" can be for a priest Smile

Well, that makes us even in numbers.

Self defense is whatever you make it. The scum was looking funny at me, so i had him "confess" his sins to the emperor.
I love shotguns.

You know dark reign?

Heard of it, but never been on it. Plus, our DH GM has decided to go away somewhere, he hasn't been online so I fear the worst for him... Should be back soon. Still got our GURPS one though, so that's all good.

Well.... good question.

One guy, the only thing you know he'll do, is something random.

One guy we can only depend on beeing late, or extremely early, or depressed. Nothing inbetween.

Me, who's.... me.

One does not speak awfully lot.

One is also quite random, not quite as random as the first guy, but when he gets a PLN, you know it will all go bad soon.

And the last one is evil, and our next gm. Razz

Re: Players in Manchester

Well, I like to think I'm the random one. I managed to critically fail casting a light spell (not in DH, in GURPS), causing an enormous flash of light, that angered a pyromaniac, who threw a fireball, triggering another pyromaniac, and ended up blowing up a blacksmith, and his shop.

To be fair, that time was an accident Smile

Our GM is kind of cool, though not very good at keeping us on track. Which considering what we managed to do, and the fact that we need to come back to this city, means we made him re-plan about 5 hours worth of stuff Very Happy
