Greetings Brothers
Hi all, new to the forums. Been playing 40K since 17, now 32. Bought a pure Grey Knight army when I worked for GW by weight, approximately 3000 points for a fraction of the otherwise ludicrous cost. Played it a number of times against a mates Word Bearers only won a game once by mistake and generally got owned against all comers, my poor dice rolls to one side I'm a fairly decent player so I figured the army doesn't really work. So I put them away and built up an Iron Hands army (and most recently pre-heresy Death Guard) but with the release of the new Codex Chaos Space Marines and Codex Daemons I have pulled them out of retirement to do the Emperor's work once more...beware chaos fiends.

Re: Greetings Brothers
Hello and welcome. Hopefully your second go-around with GK's will be more successful than the first.
Tactics: All good in theory, all gone to hell in practice.
Re: Greetings Brothers
I've been playing 40K for about the same amount of time. I started with an SOB army, then moved onto Smurfs....I mean Ultramarines and Tyranids (An almost exclusivly Genestealer force
).
Then about 6 years ago I came to my sences and started playing Grey Knights. I spent a great deal of time (and still do) playing Space Hulk which I now use Grey Knights for and adjust the background to incorporate Chaos tainted Stealers, that way I can justify the GKs preasence on the hulks.
Have you decided to hunt down the word bearers and show them how lucky they were the first time around

Re: Greetings Brothers
Why have corrupted genestealers when there are so much else that would be much more fitting.
Like bloodletters, deamonettes and chaos beasts!

Re: Greetings Brothers
The reason I use tainted Genestealers is because I really like them and have a lot of models (apprx 30). I agree that blood letters etc... would be really awesome, but I don't have any spare cash
Also when I do come into a little extra money I would rarther spend it on Grey Knights models.
Daemon infested hulks could make for some fantastic fluff though couldn't it?

Re: Greetings Brothers
Thanks for the welcome. From what I can see of 5th edition and with the changes in the Chaos Codices it seems that the Grey Knights might well experience a comeback of epic proportions. I've just ordered a MK.IV Grey Knight dreadnought with a TLLC and a GKCCW because...well because I am weak willed and they look sooo damn good.
I also need to buy another Land Raider because I just found a set of Forgeworld Grey Knight Land raider doors for which I forgot to buy the land raider. I already have a Land Raider crusader with all the trimmings, although like nearly all my armies they have yet to see a lick of paint. I'm really hoping to get some painting done in a serious way soon. With two Land raiders I should have all the rolling cover I need. I'll put a 10 man GKPA unit with an incinerator armed purgation squad in the crusader and another 10 man GKPA unit in the regular land raider and BANG, I will have myself a partey. With all this careless spending I won't be able to eat for a while but it's all a question of priorities
My dream is to unleash all my Grey Knights in an Apocalypse battle...*drools* but in the meanwhile a chaos infested Space Hulk...interesting.

Re: Greetings Brothers
I am experiencing some serious MK.IV Dreadnaught and landraider envy right now.
It sounds like your GKs are going to packing a serious punch!!! Sucks to be a Daemon lol!!!
It sounds like you have some serious painting ahead of you, just remember slow and steady wins the race.
Stay strong Brother.
I would love to see an Apocalypse battle report with a pure GK force destroying a numberless hoard of Daemons!!! I'm getting goose bumps
As for the Daemon hulk...the possibilities are endless, it could be a plauge hulk drifting into an inhabited sector spreading disease, or a Khorn hulk attracted by bloodshed at the sight of a particularily intense campaign. The old school space hulk rules could be used to incorporate bloodletters, deamonettes and chaos beasts oh my

Re: Greetings Brothers
Greetings, concerning Dreadnaughts I was maybe gonna buy an Epic Armagedon Warlord Titan and have it stand in for a Hellfire Dreadnaught, but I don't know if they are roughly the same size or not, but it won't really matter, because I can put it on display if it doesn't fit in!
