Force Weapons in 5th Edition
I've heard rumors that these are changing to insta-kill in 5th. Anyone else heard this or can confirm? If so this is going to stink. I think it'd be a little cheesy too as I could just slap on an adamantine mantle and not have to worry about that pesky librarian/psyker/Grandmaster/
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
That would suck EPIC.
My grand master would not be able to kill anything!
All enemies are better equipped, costs less points, are more numerous and have more funky rules.
We have our nemesis force weapon and our storm bolter, don't make it even worse gw!

Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
They would definatly need to upgrade the DH codex to reflect those changes and there's no telling how long that will take. As it stands True grit is pretty useless. At least for space wolves. Since they gave CSM's bolter, bolt pistol and ccw.
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
I agree with you about true girt it's such a dumb rule for my wolves.
"The warrior who acts out of honour cannot fail. His honour is duty itself. Even his death - if it is honourable - is a reward and can be no failure, for it has come through duty. Seek honour as you act, therefore, and you will know no fear."
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
??????????????????????
WTF?????
(sorry about the dirty words...)
Don't worry brothers, is just a matter of time before GW release the new Inquisition Codex (at least I hope so)
and they will improve our army, I'm sure... GW has a tendency to favor chaos over other armies, but the good guys always WIN!

Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
According the the Warpcon that was in Ireland, JJ (Jervis Johnson) said the Space Wolves codex would be out next year. He also said the Space Wolves were his favorite army. Kinda made me feel pretty good as the Space Wolves were my first army.
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
Ok, I'm a bit confused and need a little clarification on insta-kill weapons. Are these special Codex-specific weapons or does it mean (include) any weapons that wound and have double (or greater) strength compared to the targets toughness? I'm assuming our Force Weapon is not considered insta-kill because its actually the follow-up Psychic attack that does the auto-kill.
Tactics: All good in theory, all gone to hell in practice.
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
Force weapons (To include NFW) will supposedly become Insta-kill as in greater than double your strength type insta-kill.
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
The insta kill wouldn't be so bad in all Daemon Prince didn't have 'eternal warriors' rule, what would be worse if in the new daemon codex all Greater Daemons get NO insta kill.
Beside them, only adamantium mantle and crimsom medal would be a problem.. oh right, I think Nids would too T_T

But they can buy the daemonic ability to be immune to insta-kill. Or are all monsterous creatures immune anyway?
Re: Force Weapons in 5th Edition
Tyranids are all immune to insta kill if within synapse range, (yes all) ghazghkull is immune to instant kill.
And many more, not just adamantine mantles on puny marines.
I would love if the grand master nfw was a vortex weapon!
Every enemy that is hit in cc is removed from play, no saves of any kind, their body is banished and their soul purged in the purity of the gk's combined prayers and the wrath of the emperor himself!
The enemy is toast!
