A couple of months ago, me and a couple of the guys from the group of people I usually play with figured out we would try and update part of the daemon hunter codex for use with 5th edition rules.

Our main goal was to remove some of the silly special cases grey knights have such as our force weapons, smoke launchers and land raiders, but also to add a bit of versatality to the grey knight lists (as to not rely so heavily on land raiders) and allow the list to be more in line with the fluff.

For Daemons, I have only faced them once, but it was by a veteran player who used all their accursed forces. I hope in this thread those of us experienced in slaying the embodiments of evil can rely the knowledge to other Knights in their quests to defeating our worst nemesis.

I was looking at an alternative to having FAGKs and came upon the Seraphim as a potential unit that can deepstrike, and possesses good movment which would be useful in flanking taking out tanks and the like. But after reading the weapons load out, I've noticed that it says nothing about what the Sister Superior is loaded out with at no extra point costs like all of the other Superiors out there. And after looking over the squad box on the GWS site, it left me feeling a bit odd. I've read over ...

I've seen this several times and it is brought up in many tacticas. This is concerning the instant kill function of DH force weapons. Can someone explain to me why our force weapons still inflict instant kills on units that are immune to instant death (e.g. synapse and eternal warrior)?

I understand that our codex says that the model loses all their wounds and not specifically that it causes instant death, but aren't they effectively the same thing?

On a side note: I think that units ...

Each warzone consists off 8 (in one case 9) stores, 73 stores at all. On two planets the Imperium had been the defenders and Orks and Chaos the attackers. On the third planet it had been reversed. It was a victory for the Imperium. We hold 4 warzones, Orks/Chaos 3 warzones and 2 had been contested.

But I was able to get an early birthday present, in the form of cash.

I was able to pay for the GKD, along with his combat blade arm and his psycannon. I wanted to get a twin linked lascannon, but sadly all I could afford (and barely) was that. It came to something ...

Thoughts on Daemonhunters builds?

I am just starting my second 40K force. Daemonhunters.

But what to do with them?

I have come up with 4 different builds and wondered what people think of each.

1) Pure DH. Inqs, Assassins and ISTs

2) Pure GK. Just Grey Knights and GK vehicles

3) GK + DH. Mainly Grey Knights with 1 Inq, Assassins and maybe 1 IST squad.

4) DH + GK Mainly Inq, Assassins, ISTs and a couple of GK units.

Thoughts, comments and ideas?

Thanks in advance

There are some serious Daemons comming (plague Ogryns) Ready you wargear!!!!

The more Daemon new releases I see, the more I feel that GW HAS to bring us up to speed with the new rules!!!

I am excited to face these new foes on the table top

I wonder what the Ogryns will count as in the game? Daemons I hope.

Sorry but I couldnt find an answer to this using search. People, especially daemons of chaos players, keep telling me that their daemons should have the without number rule against me because of the GK Daemonic Infestation rule. As far as I can see this is a lot of bull because:

A) it details Daemon Packs and Daemonic Beasts Packs specifically, as per the units in the back of the GK book and theres no such thing in the Daemons of Chaos book (although there are nurglings so ...

I was thinking it could "slay outright"(how it does now) but only to deamons but would still cause instant death to any non-daemons, or..

pass leadership, auto inflict D6 wounds no armour allowed(invuls are allowed)?

pls give any thoughts or ideas so we may hope a little hope of what could be.

Good day all,

I've been strongly thinking about adding an inducted guard platoon to my DH for a little game diversity and modeling. At 1750, I currently run a mixed DH army with GM and retinue in Crusader, 8 PAGK, 3 Rhino mounted IST's, dread, and either another raider or for fun I'll toss in my Lord and his huge retinue. But recent games against a now mech heavy environment is leading me down a different avenue.

For only 350 points I can get.....

So confident they can beat us, another battle shall go down. this time the rules have changed, instead of one massive battle, it will be split up into 5 smaller apoc battles. depending on who wins the most games out of the 5, they will become the victor.

I have no further details on the game and have no idea when or how many points each player will get, ...

He stated that he's got Gorechild, and it always hits on 2+ups, as well as having some sort of ability that makes FORCE WEAPONS COUNT AS NORMAL WEAPONS??!? I have not heard of him having that, but if that's true would that affect Nemesis Force weapons?

Aside from that, 4 Wound initiative 5 Str+4 etc. means he's going to be a nasty brute to take down. ...

So I got in a single game earlier today; against a Space Wolves player that I had beaten in the last campaign/tournament. He wanted 1000 points, so I brought in two squads of Grey Knights, outfitted with psycannons on a fairly barren *and icey* board. Along with that, my Dreadnought with powefist/Lascannon and my Grandmaster and retinue with hammerhand that deepstriked by turn 3.

My bloody accursed enemy brought in two venerable Dreads; his HQ being a Dreadnought too! *Bjorn the fell handed*. ...

The new 2009 IG FAQ is out and there is a whole section dedicated to how the IG Codex interacts with Inquisitorial Forces. Most interesting to me is that GKT's can't ride in Valks (no big surprise), but once again there is no restriction on PAGK's being mounted in them.

This thing is pretty awesome and pretty comprehensive. There's 5 pages worth of DH questions. It should hold a lot of weight since GW is backing it for Ard Boyz.

I took a look at the intimidating sprues and closed the box . Is there possibly better intructions or a video on how to put this beast together.
