Shore leave in Fremantle/Perth!!!

Hi guys, currently enjoying the winter weather in Fremantle. Too bad, I'm not on the other side of Australia where I know some of our Brothers are. Will be here just for a few days but should be enough time for me to catch up and see the really cool pics everyone's been posting ...and upload some of my work progress too

BTW, to my pleasant surprise, there's a GW store 15 minutes walking distance from the townhouse I'm staying at!!! I already checked it out and they said Planetstrike is being released this Saturday. I don't really know much about it yet but it seems to be a pretty interesting expansion. When I told them I play GK, they immediately mentioned that in Planetstrike, GKT's and teleport PAGKs can deep strike and assault right away!

Amazing where the GWS lairs are hidden Even more amazing for them to actually know anything about GK's, I get told the wrong stuff so often its not even funny!

LOL I know what you mean. They told me that there's a big game on Saturday but I didn't bring my army down from the ship since I wasn't expecting to find a GW store

What? You mean you don't carry your army around in a backpack just in case a spontaneous game of 40K breaks out somewhere? Ain't never been a Boy Scout I'm guessin'. Another cool thing is you can by a Strategem that allows re-rolls for Deep Striking.

I dont carry my army in my bag but I do carry my rulebook and SM codex just to read if I get bored. Also have a nice time there.

I carry my gk's and rulebooks with me wherever i go....

Not really, but they are in my car so they do go wherever i take my car.

A car is a very good place to store stuff

Well, I do have all my rulebooks, dice and stuff on the ship, along with my army. But I just didn't bring it down since I'm only here for a few days and didn't even know there was a GW store No worries...I'll be swinging by the store tomorrow to pick up Planetstrike and maybe a few other stuff (he he he). The store manager said they had a big game going on tomorrow and they've graciously allowed me to use one of their display armies to play with (Crimson Fists I think)

I'm back to transiting real space and warp space on my Strikecruiser LOL. By the time I get to my next port stop, I should have a few more models done (and maybe my GM's LR assembled).
Had a nice brief R&R in Fremantle (specially since there was a GW store in downtown). I didn't get a chance to play since there were simply too many players and they don't have a big store. I told the staff I'd be content just to watch Planetstrike looks like it's really fun to play with. Am currently familiarizing myself with the rules...

The only thing I was disappointed with in Fremantle is that the prices are really MUCH higher than standard US GW prices. A paperback from GW in US normally costs $8.60 and it cost 16 Australian dollars! That's around $12.80 US. The Planetstrike expansion cost 41 Australian which would be $32.80 US. I saw online that it was only $25. Oh well
