Girls?

just a question: around here, some player are wondering why girls do not play warhammer...

I don't know if where you are girls play warhammer, but at least here, we are all men

we have planty of theories, but I really want to hear yours!

Well I know of one who is a member of this forum, Becci. She's 19 and one of my sister's friends, she also collects Daemonhunters and was an Archivest on this forum until she lost her email password and forum password. I don't know any other girls who play the game, maybe in other clubs? But Becci is the only girl I know who collects and plays.

At my local store there´re three girls playing. One together with her husban (She/Eldar and He/IG) one girl is playing orks and one Grey Knights. And by the way we have a second female member, Daemon scum, Inquisitor Lord´s girlfriend.

Over where I am we have at least a couple of girl players for 40,000 but there are several who play Warhammer. Perhaps it is because Warhammer has an air of majesty and a sense of romantisism to it, while Warhammer 40,000 has only dirt, grim and bucket-loads of blood. Though I must admit that a Sister of Battle armed with a Heavy Bolter is rather HOT! Primarily though the two 40k players are IG and Eldar respectively.

There's one girl at our club who actually plays, and that's warhammer fantasy. From time to time older peoples wives/girlfriends drop in to watch or something.

I don't think I've ever seen a girl ,unless they're with someone, in Portsmouth's games workshop. I remember a girl who played LOTR a few years back but haven't seen her since.

I would have to say that 40K/Warhammer is predominantly a guy based activity, and that women interested in the hobby are definatly a minority.

There is a young lady who collects Tyranids who occasionally visits the local GWS I go to, she has some of the most amazing models I've seen.

Its a flying nid army, and practically everything has custom wings.

I forgot my little sister... that was silly, she has "Dark Angles", Dark Dragons (Black marines with red trim) and 5 eldar guardians. She's getting lots of "Angles" for christmas, which means my Wolves can satiate their grudge for a litttle while...

I remember seeing a tutorial on the web on how to do bat wings out of green stuff and plasticard... oh, and wires. No idea where though. :/

I think it is pretty safe to say that if you are looking for girls, a GW/hobby store is NOT going to be the most productive environment
I know that there are some of us out there that found true love in one of these stores, but they are definatly a minority.
