Why were the Blood Angels released as a White Dwarf army?

Post by Snowfire on Sat Apr 19, 2008 7:26 am

Many of you are probably wondering why the Blood Angels were released as a White Dwarf army.

The reason is simple - Tradition.

Blood Angels and Dark Angels were originally released as one book. When they were updated, they had their own books, but were both released at the same time. Last year when they were updated again, they were released together. This time only one had a book.

The Dark Angels have more background than the Blood Angels, hence why they have their own book. If Blood Angels had their own book, the stories in it would just be a snippet of the Horus Heresy. So there was no point. Yes, it would have been nice to have a book to read, but there just isn't the same amount of background story or history as the Dark Angels have.

In no way are GW getting rid of Blood Angels, they are just keeping with the tradition of release for these two great armies.
