LOL!!!! That was hilarious
And yes, I would say that the character in the novel was a GM or at the very least a BC.
This is for your benefit Brother NF. No peeking
@ Brother NF
The only place I have read about BC Stern is in the Codex
Perhaps as a forum project we could write a story about him together

Re: Some books i had read.....
It's actually pretty substantial since the presence of the GKs determines the final outcome of the story

To this day I've still held off reading HoD so I have something to look forward to. Might pick up Killing Ground just for a GK fix.

It is a good read. Obviously MORE GK content would be great, but what is there is good. I like the fact that a planetary governer who doesn't respect or acknowledge the authority of Space Marines shakes in fear when his alerted to the arrival of the GKs
And how the heck have you managed to not read HOD yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good god man quit tourturing yourself and read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trust me, it has not been easy. Any word if Mr. Counter has another GK novel in the pipes?

Re: Some books i had read.....
Some of the 40K books that I have read would of course be the Grey Knights, Soul Drinkers Omnibus plus Chapter Wars, Horus Rising and False Gods. The last one that I finished was Faith and Fire by James Swallow. Right now I'm reading Salamanders by Nick Kyme.
I just have to say, that Faith and Fire was an interesting read, especially when your going over Psychoanalytic and Feminist criticisms in a Literary Analysis class. It made me realize just how envious the Sisters are of men. Carrying all of those big guns heavy guns. Freud would have a field day with the Sisters.
One more thing, I also read Lord of the Night by James Spurrier, I must admit that I'm feeling lethargic right now since I don't feel like editing my own post. Anyway, I found it to be a good read, a bit slow and odd at first, the style was different of course. But I found it rather interesting in its own way, with how the POV changes from the Chaos raptor to the Interrogator after every chapter. It's a really interesting style of writing.

Hmm, Brother Ronin I think I will go investigate Lord of the Night and Faith and Fire. They both seem like really interesting works, I know I enjoyed the GK Omnibus and the Horus Heresy. I was thinking of checking out "Tales of Heresy", I recall hearing it has the Emperor make an appearance against a Dragon

I only buy the inquisition-related books of 40k
loved Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogy and in general all the Dan Abnett books (gaunt's too of course)
loved Grey Knight, alas french traduction is very slow so the 2 others are not edited in France yet !
like Ciaphas Caine for it changes from the Bloodthristy Commissar but the style is somewhat "light"
was disappointed by night lord that i found a bit redundant in the style and i had hard time imaginating 1 lone SM (even a Captain or a would-be-Chaptermaster) causing the destruction of a whole Hive ....

Re: Some books i had read.....
Reading: Scourge the Heretic and the Blood Ravens Omnibus (just started that one, I've heard its not good).
Just read:
The GK Omnibus: didn't like the middle book, it was slow as death, but the last book, Daemonhammer was great. My only gripe about the series is that I feel our protagonist lacks personality. I see how Ben Counter is trying to create a naive, innocent sort of Grey Knight who is blossoming into something stronger and far more dangerous, but he seems TOO blank a canvas.
Fourth Space Wolf novel, the name escapes me. That was great! Really enjoyed it; interesting how Ragnar is going through the same sort of experience as Aleric (sp) but Ragnar is much more interesting, not so passive and reactive.
Great thread btw

Re: Some books i had read.....
Glad you enjoyed the GK Omnibus Brother Brisbane; the middle one was certainly lacking throughout but I found it pretty interesting. Plus, the face off against the "Daemon" at the end was very entertaining.
It was really the 3rd book that brought it home to me; Alaric is a bit bland, and I had hoped for my character befitting a Grey Knight, but it was more then tolerable.
I haven't read the Space Wolves novels, and was just going to read Eisenhorns but I keep hearing about those wolfs so I might just go check to see what your talking about

@Brother Nausaden: I would really consider getting the wolf books. I can't speak about the 5th or 6th, yet, but so far the others have been really great.

Re: Some books i had read.....
@Nausaden: You should definitely read the SW novels. The last two are written by Lee and Lightner but they still follow the stlye. Most people didn´t like the last two books cause they lack one certain charakter from the first 3. I can´t agree, they had been fantastic. But be aware, if you start reading them, you will automatically start with a SW army.
