Re: Your favorite combos
Nope, my inquisitor is the elite one with:
Psycannon.
Targeter.
.....
51 pts, independent character. And a nice cape to go along with his armour. Targeter just for getting that 1 last point! in the list!

Re: Your favorite combos
Warning! n00b question!
You have to choose the profile for the psycannon fielding it? Can't you choose to fire in a mode, and the other mode next turn? Anyway this is only for PAGK; good analysis, Doom, but termies can move and shoot w/ heavy weapons so I think psycannon for them will ALWAYS fire 36"
Have any one of you tried an elite inquisitor fielded w/ thunderhammer and bolt pistol, joined to a termy squad?
I know - it costs 46 pts, at the same price you have a termy with the thunderhammer at str 8, 2+/5+ (4+ in HtH) save, R4; an inq appears useless here. But I tryed it once and did good! He's a specialist against monstrous creatures.. if the enemy strikes him, you save your termies; if your enemy strikes the termy squad (more probable!) you're sure he can always do his attacks. And 3 attacks (4 on charge) with thunderhammer means that if you do just one wound, than the enemy can't attack until the end of the next turn! So you attack him again, and so on. It's not a "so surprisingly uber skilled" tactic, I know.. but I used it in my "mainly GK" list to field an assassin since I couldn't find any more useful/cheaper configuration for my inq! Any thoughts?

Re: Your favorite combos
The cheapest Inquis could be inquisitor with Bolt pistol CCW.
22 pts.
Or a bolter, if you check the FAQ, 21 pts.
An inquisitor can have a psycannon and it may fire in both modes in the same game, i have always played like that and always will.
Maybe i should give him a bolter instead, and a shrouding, to have when fighting the new deamons.
So annoying for the deamons, hehehe. 36 pts inquis that makes the whole terminator squad invincible.
Hohoho.

Yeah, I know you're right - I meant "the cheapest TO DO SOMETHING"
And yes, you're right again: now bolter+shrouding will be better!
Re: Your favorite combos
Grand master with master crafted nfw, power weapon (to give him 5 attacks) throw in a retinue of 4 termies charging out of a lr crusader or if you have the points, retinue of 7. Works for me. Thats wat I run at the moment if I know what the opponent is playing, playing against chaos obviously you would throw in the sacred incence!
Re: Your favorite combos
Can't the grand master take a ccw?
It's more cheap than a power weapon, and will be equally effective.
Or a bolt pistol.
If you ask me a grey knight is supposed too have a storm bolter, but anyone can do what they think is good/cool.

A Grand Master with a Master-Crafted Nemesis Force Weapon, Witch Hunters Inferno Pistol and all anti Chaos and anti Daemon wargear and stuff. That would be coool

Re: Your favorite combos
Now that I have some actual experience under my belt I'm leaning towards making my GM as well-rounded as possible. My layout would be: master-crafted NFW, psycannon, Icon of the Just and Hammerhand. The Icon I would only take if points permitting and probably only for tournies. If our GM Force Weapon gets dinged with the new edition I think Hammerhand might become more viable for those nastier characters/creatures.
Tactics: All good in theory, all gone to hell in practice.
