Imagine... (AND HELP ME, PLEASE!)
Imagine that you are gamers...
Imagine that you are fans of WH40K
Imagine that you are fans of the good guys...
Imagine that you love modeling and converting above the rules...
Imagine you create an army for a tournament...
Imagine you, converting, painting and even building an army tray...
Imagine that the army is NOT GK...
Imagine that you never play with that army, created more for display than gaming...
Imagine that your only hope is asking your GK forum friends...
and know, you know how I feel...
I choose to use a Blood Angels based army (Ordo Malleus background, of course), with 36 men with jumpacks (10 veterans, 20 normal, and the death company), a chaplain (jumpack of course), a land speeder, bikes, an attack bike, and two predator baals...
AND I NEVER USE THIS ARMY BEFORE!
if you have no choice but use the models I told you, what do you do? (I'm talking about strategy)
about the army... it has tons of conversions and models (even the sword brethen, and some justicars, all with jumpacks, are in the army) as soon as I can, I'll post some pics

Re: Imagine... (AND HELP ME, PLEASE!)
I weigh up the strengths of my army, which is obviously in close combat, but also in close range fire support. I find that my main problem is closing with the enemy fast enough, or that the enemy has a unit which far outstrips my own close combat ability, and I lack enough heavy firepower to stop it or a heavy tank is invulnerable to most of my units attacks. I would split up into combat squads to encircle and divide the enemies attacks. I use the Bikes and Land Speeder as mobile fire support, moveing to where they are needed most. I may try splitting my army up to assault both of the enemies flanks, with the bikes and speeder running interferance or drawing fire. I would use the death company and chaplin as a spearhead. I may also consider getting a tactical squad and putting them in a Drop Pod or a rhino.

Re: Imagine... (AND HELP ME, PLEASE!)
I make armies in 40k for coolness factor. Not becouse they are good.
If i would make armies too win, i would just make an eldar army and i would automaticly win, becouse they cheat!
Anyways, i can imagine that.

Re: Imagine... (AND HELP ME, PLEASE!)
If I were you, I imagine I would......
Present the enemy with several threats of which they are hard pressed to choose between
SO....... Maybe Baal Predators up one flank
Bikes and land speeder up the middle
And troops up the other flank
(All scary and able to hold their own
)
I played a similar strategy w/ my Genestealer army. Obviously the Stealers were going to be shot to bits b4 they reached the tasty Eldar waiting for them, so I gave the Eldar something big to distract them from the Stealers (a Carnifax) while they ran up the flanks. (it worked and I ripped the Eldar to shreads!!! (Not much meat on them though
)
With this kind of army you will probhably see heavy losses in the first round or so
But once you reach your opponent it should be all good
The key is to present several threats so that your opponent can't decide which threat is greater but has to fucus on one. Leaving the other portion/s to get in close and do their job
