How to 'Apocalypse' Daemonhunters
My Daemonhunter army will soon be heading to Apoc size.
But what Super Heavies to add to them?
Baneblade / variants? Or does everyone now have one of these?
Valkyries? Transport for my Inqs and added fire power?
Grey Knight Landraiders? Variants inc Redeemer , Terminus and Ares?
Titans? Warhounds and Reavers inducted into the Inquisition?
Thoughts and ideas are all welcome.
Thanks

The Terminus looks fun. So does the Ares.
And they wouldnt look out of place in a GK force.
But what about the bigger boys.
Are Baneblades and Valks everywhere at the moment?
Would a Thunderhawk and Titan support look better?

Re: How to 'Apocalypse' Daemonhunters
I have one Baneblade and one Shadowsword for my GK. A Titan would be nice but everytime i have put enough money on the side, i need the money for more importent and vital things in life
(car, new notebook....) sounds like Murphy´s lore.

Re: How to 'Apocalypse' Daemonhunters
shadowsword and baneblade are IG options and i'm not sure that IST can take it (or maybe with aknoledgement of your opponent) and for me it make as if GK needed IG help (which is plausible) but i feel incomfortable with that and i prefer full GK (or SM) options for apocalypse.
and by the way somewhere over the rainbow ... no on warseer
I found a piece of artwork (probably a possibility of cover for a GK codex) that shows us what the future of GK could be, including for apocalypse (with something very close to a GK Titan !!
)

I'm not completely sold on that pic actually, they seem so.... i don't know, pretty?
And the pic is rather old, been around for some time.

Well concerning taking Baneblades, and anything that can be termed as "Imperial Guard" should be allowed to be taken by DH's in apoc.
The Codex discusses the allying concept/ how Grey Knights, and Inquisitors can induct anything from an imperial guard platoon, to an invasion force. So really to see a few Baneblades rolling around on the field flying Daemon Hunter colors wouldn't be a radical concept.
However, if you would want to make it more "fluffy" or in line with the story line- add an inquisitor to your apoc force- the inquistor can be seen as the one that called in for the called in these additional forces.

yes the pic's date is december 2008 and i saw it about the month of march or april (don't remember well) but as i didn't find it here i assume (maybe wrongly) that you didn't see it and i insert the link here.
I agreed it's a little too ... neat.
But that artwork, if my infos were right, was for GW. And what i liked was the possibility of the next codex to offer the versatility of a SM army to the GK one (like assault PAGK with jetpacks, chaplains, standard bearer even if he's nearly useless, "compagny" champ...)
and for the Titan ... I remember the old days where the GKT could assault another Titan through an assault glove of another titan. I always thought that this image was ... fun

Hmmm.
"But the titan is just GK..."
What the heck did i mean? I think i got a mindfart here, as i myself can't even remember what it's supposed to say.
There are no gk titans in fluff, no marine ones, no imperial guard ones, they are their own thing.
Titan legions.
Versatility, don't we have a bunch of that already?

As said before. I would rather not use any IG models inc Baneblades for 2 reasons. They are too comman now and Im not keen on the force.

Yes I agree there's no GK (or others) Titans, but there is Titan used by GK and we can assume that those pass through rituals to make them more efficient against GK foes. given them the more gothic look
I don't know if the word has the same meaning in english and in french, but compared to the last SM codex (for example) the GK codex lacks a lot of choices ... so no, i don't think we have a bunch of that already

Well, if you restrict yourself with beeing pure gk, you won't have that many choices.
And perhaps true with the titans.
A titan legion could have become honour bound to the ordo malleus, and thus gained a few "improvements" as to better fight the deamon.
Inferno gun that ignores invurnerable saves anyone?

Re: How to 'Apocalypse' Daemonhunters
I believe there is an apocalypse formation for Redeemer tanks that may also apply to Grey Knights since we are strangely in that category when I looked it up. it was in White Dwarf a few months back.
If memory serves it is three redeemer tanks as a squadron with an additional 100 point cost to the total, apart from normal use of their flamestorm cannons they may choose instead to fire all their flamestorm cannons at once at a single target using the large-scale flame template. The template is set infront of any available cannon nearest to the target and the stats remain the same except that you add +1 str. for every flamestorm cannon the squadron has available to a max of 10.
in other words 1 str. 10 large flame template weapon!!!
